Maternity leave extended by doctor, but no payment for extra week. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My doctor extended my maternity leave by a week, but I haven't received payment for that extra time. My last payment should have come through about a week ago. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to handle it?

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue when I was on maternity leave. Have you tried calling the benefits office? They might be able to help you sort it out.

•I've been trying to call all morning, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. That's how I finally got through after days of trying.

This happened to me too! It took forever to get it sorted out. Make sure you have all your documentation ready - doctor's note, original leave approval, everything. They'll ask for it all.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. Plus, time is money when you're dealing with missed payments!

The system is so broken. It's ridiculous that new mothers have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits they're entitled to. We need serious reform in how these things are handled.

•Totally agree. I've been saying this for years. The whole system needs an overhaul.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what was said. 2. Send a formal email to the benefits office explaining the situation. Include your claim number and all relevant dates. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes they're more responsive there. 4. Contact your HR department. They might be able to advocate for you. 5. As a last resort, consider reaching out to your local government representative. They often have channels to expedite these issues. Don't give up! You're entitled to this payment and persistence is key. Good luck!

have you checked your online account? sometimes the payment info is updated there before you actually receive it
