EDD website errors preventing me from filing unemployment claim online - any workarounds?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble starting my unemployment claim online. The website keeps giving me errors and I can't seem to get through. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried calling but I've been on hold forever. Any advice on how to actually get this process started?

I found a way to solve unemployment claim website errors, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SJpZD6FDq0

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 The online system is a total mess rn. I've been trying for weeks to file my claim and keep getting kicked out. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something.

For real tho! Its like were playing a game of whack-a-mole with these errors. One day the site is down, the next day it crashes mid-application. I'm bout ready to give up 😫

Don't give up! Keep trying. I finally got through after like 20 attempts. Just gotta be persistent and maybe try at off-peak hours?

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll keep at it. Maybe I'll set an alarm for 3 AM and try then lol 😴

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Woah, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Is it legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Was desperate after weeks of trying. Yeah, it sucks to pay, but it beats losing out on benefits 🤷‍♂️

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about an hour, but I just went about my day and got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being glued to my phone all day.

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes clearing your cache and cookies can help too. The EDD website is notoriously finicky.

Protip: Call right when they open. I mean like, set an alarm for 5 minutes before and start dialing at 7:59:59. Sometimes you can get through before the queue fills up. Good luck!

This! I did this and got through on my third try. Early bird gets the worm and all that jazz 🐦

I feel your pain, OP. The whole system is a joke. I've been trying to sort out an issue with my claim for MONTHS. It's like they're actively trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to get help. Anyone else feel like they're just running in circles?

Preach! 🙌 It's a full-time job just trying to get unemployment benefits. The irony is not lost on me.

Seriously tho, why is it so hard? Other states seem to have their act together. California needs to get it together fr

Here's what worked for me after weeks of frustration: 1. Try applying late at night or early morning when server traffic is lower. 2. Use a desktop computer instead of mobile if possible. 3. Have all your documents ready before starting the application. 4. If you get an error, wait 30 minutes before trying again. 5. Keep a log of all your attempts, including screenshots of errors. 6. If all else fails, reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes escalate cases. Hang in there, OP. It's a broken system, but persistence pays off eventually.

Wait, assembly members can help with this? How do you even contact them?

Yep! Google your address + 'assembly member' and you should find their office. Most have forms on their websites for constituent services. They can be surprisingly helpful!

lmao imagine thinking the government actually wants to help us 🤡 This whole system is designed to be frustrating so people give up. Stay strong and keep fighting for what you're owed!
