EDD unemployment claim submitted weeks ago, no payment received - what to do next?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I submitted my unemployment claim a couple weeks ago and still haven't received any payment. I've got my claim ID and everything, but I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get an update on my payment status?

Anyone else feel like we're playing a game of unemployment roulette? 🎰 Never know if you're gonna hit the jackpot (aka actually get paid) or go bust 😂

PSA: If you're having trouble with EDD, document EVERYTHING. Save screenshots, write down call times, keep a log of all communication. It might come in handy if you need to escalate your case.

Just a heads up, make sure you're still certifying for benefits every two weeks even if you haven't received payment yet. Don't want to mess up future payments!

Oh shoot, I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip!

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous!

Interesting, I might give this a try if I can't get through on my own. Thanks for sharing!

I used Claimyr too, and while the cost is a bummer, it was worth not dealing with the stress.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep calling every day 2. Have all your info ready (claim ID, SSN, etc.) 3. Be super nice to the rep when you finally get through 4. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help Good luck! The system is a mess but don't give up 💪

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Write down who you talked to and when.

Good reminder about being polite. It's amazing how much more willing people are to help when you're courteous.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's info there about why payments are delayed.

I did, but it just says "pending" with no other details 😕

You can usually find your representative through your state's government website.

Has anyone else noticed that the payment delays seem to be getting worse lately? I've been on unemployment for 6 months and this is the longest I've had to wait.

Yep, I think they're overwhelmed with all the new claims from recent layoffs.

Its probly cuz of all the fraud. They're being extra careful now 🕵️♂️

It's likely a combination of both. More claims and more scrutiny due to fraud.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

Regarding Claimyr, it's a helpful tool for those who can afford it and need an urgent resolution. However, it's important to remember that not everyone can spare $20, especially when already facing financial difficulties. Weigh the pros and cons before proceeding.
