EDD trying to close my case over a letter I never got - HELP!
I'm so frustrated right now. They're trying to close my case because I didn't return a letter within 10 days, but I never even received it! Has anyone else dealt with this? What can I do?

I found a way to solve case closure due to missed letter, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egCFMDvbX1U

Ugh, that's so annoying! The same thing happened to me last year. Have you tried calling them to explain the situation?

I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually get through within 15 minutes that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

This is a common tactic they use to close cases. Don't let them get away with it! Keep calling and document everything. If you can, send a certified letter explaining that you never received their original letter.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? 😬 That's steep for a phone call.

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through.

This is why we need to reform the whole system. It's designed to be frustrating so people give up. Don't let them win!

💯 The system is rigged against us. We need to organize and demand change!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down dates, times, and details of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Send a certified letter explaining that you never received their original letter. Request that they reopen your case. 3. Contact your local representative or senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 4. If all else fails, consider seeking legal advice. Many lawyers offer free consultations for these types of cases. Don't give up! The system is designed to be frustrating, but you have rights. Keep pushing until you get a resolution.

This is great advice. I'd add: keep copies of EVERYTHING. You never know when you might need to prove something later.

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But honestly, that's not a bad idea. I'll see if I can find a fax machine somewhere.
