EDD payment for continuing benefits delayed - no explanation. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. I haven't received my continuing benefits payment and I don't know why. I've already checked my account online but there's no explanation. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what could be causing the delay or what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel you. The system is so messed up rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

•Sure! You just go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay, and they start calling for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings. It's pretty simple.

Have you checked if there were any changes to your claim recently? Sometimes even small updates can cause delays.

I've been in the same boat. Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting a bunch of claims. Might be worth asking if that's whats happening to yours.

•Oh wow, I hadn't heard about any glitches. How did you find out about it?

•I finally got through to a rep after days of trying. They told me about the glitch and said they were working on fixing it. Might be worth mentioning if you get someone on the phone.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with delayed payments: 1. Double-check that you've certified for benefits correctly. Sometimes a small mistake can hold things up. 2. Look for any correspondence in your online account or mail. They might have requested additional info. 3. If you've had any change in income or employment status, even part-time work, report it ASAP. 4. Check if your bank info is up to date in the system. 5. Sometimes there are random audits that can delay payments. If this is the case, you just have to wait it out. 6. As a last resort, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps! The system can be a real pain sometimes.

Seriously, the whole system needs an overhaul. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what we're entitled to.
