EDD disqualified claim due to unverified medical forms - need help!
I'm so frustrated. My unemployment claim got disqualified because they said I submitted multiple medical forms without verification. I sent the forms twice, once in November and again in December, but they still haven't processed them. I used to work as a mechanic before filing. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, that sucks. The EDD is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call for weeks, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. 🤞

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait once they started calling?

It took about an hour, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documentation. Make copies of everything you sent. 2. Write a detailed letter explaining the timeline of when you submitted forms. 3. If you have any proof of mailing (receipts, tracking numbers), include those. 4. Call EDD first thing in the morning (like 7:59 AM) and explain your situation. 5. If you can't get through, try the online appeal process. 6. Consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things through. 7. Don't give up! Keep calling and following up. I went through something similar and it took about 6 weeks to resolve, but I finally got it sorted. Hang in there!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Did you end up getting backpay for the weeks you were disqualified?

Yes, I did get backpay! It took another couple weeks after they fixed the issue, but I got it all eventually.

have you tried faxing your docs? sometimes that works better than mail. also, certify for weeks even if ur disqualified, in case they backdate ur claim later

The whole system is rigged against us, I swear. They make it so complicated on purpose. Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat. 🚢💀

Nah, don't buy into that negativity. The system's overwhelmed, but keep pushing. You'll get there!

Quick question - when you say "multiple medical forms," what exactly did you submit? There might be a specific form they're looking for that you missed.

I submitted the DE 2501 Claim for Disability Insurance Benefits and a doctor's note. Should I have included something else?

Ah, gotcha. Make sure you also have the DE 2525XX Physician/Practitioner Certification filled out by your doctor. That's often the missing piece!
