EDD disability payment suddenly reduced to 1/4 - only 3 days instead of 2 weeks! Help!

I'm so frustrated with EDD right now. My disability payment was only a quarter of what I usually get, and it was for just 3 days instead of 2 weeks! My doctor extended my disability, and EDD already has the paperwork. I really need this money. Has anyone else had issues with reduced payments or delays recently?

I found a way to solve reduced EDD disability payments, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtGO-5F4rsM

Ugh, that sucks! I've been dealing with EDD for months now and it's always something. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get things sorted out.

I've been trying to call all morning but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through that way.

Calling is useless, I swear they have like 2 people working the phones 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait once they started calling?

It took about an hour, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check that all your paperwork is in order. Make sure your doctor sent in the extension form (DE2501) correctly. 2. Log into your EDD account and check for any messages or requests for additional information. 3. If everything looks good on your end, you need to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They're the only ones who can really help with payment issues. 4. Be persistent with calling. Use the trick of pressing # right after the automated message starts to skip to the menu faster. 5. If you can't get through, consider using the AskEDD feature on their website to submit a question about your claim. 6. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help escalate your case. Hang in there! The system is frustrating but keep at it and you'll get your money.

have you checked ur claim history on the edd website? sometimes it shows pending payments or issues with ur claim that might explain the reduced amount

I'm in the same boat, friend. EDD has been a nightmare since covid started. Feels like were all just numbers to them 😞

Hey OP, when was your last full payment? And did you receive any notice about your claim status changing? Sometimes they reduce payments if they think you're working part-time or if there's a gap in your medical certification.

My last full payment was 2 weeks ago. I haven't received any notices about changes, that's why I'm so confused!

Hmm, sounds like there might be a glitch in their system. Definitely try to get ahold of a rep to explain the situation.
