EDD claim on hold for a month, no payments. How to get through to a rep?
My unemployment claim has been on hold for a month now with no payments. I've tried checking my account for updates but there's nothing new. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do to get this resolved? I really need to speak with someone at the unemployment office but I can't get through on the phone.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now with radio silence. The system is so broken 😤

6 weeks? Amateur hour. Try 3 months without a peep 🙃

Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always busy or I get disconnected after waiting for hours.

Pro tip: call at 7:59am and start dialing at 8:00am sharp. Sometimes works for me!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to finally get my claim sorted.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD claims being on hold: 1. Check your EDD account daily for any new messages or requests for information. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. If you received any mail from EDD, respond immediately. 4. Try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push claims through. 5. Keep detailed records of all your attempts to contact EDD. 6. If you can get through on the phone, be prepared with all your information and a clear explanation of your issue. 7. Consider using a paid service to get through on the phone if you're desperate. 8. Check if there are any known system issues or delays announced on the EDD website. 9. Join Facebook groups or other forums for real-time updates and tips from others in the same situation. 10. Be patient (I know it's hard) and persistent. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

Great advice! I'd add: don't forget to check your spam folder for EDD emails. Almost missed an important one there.

Have you checked if there's an identity verification issue? That held up my claim for weeks.

How do I check for that? I don't see anything about it in my account.

Look for any messages about ID.me or identity verification. If you don't see anything, it might not be the issue. But worth double-checking!

Protip: Tweet at your state representatives. Sometimes public pressure works wonders 😉

Hang in there, friend. Have you looked into local food banks or rental assistance programs? They might help tide you over.

Has anyone tried faxing? I know it sounds ancient, but I heard some people had luck with that.

What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, might be worth a shot if nothing else works.
