EDD claim on hold for a month, no payments. What to do?

My unemployment claim has been on hold for a month now with no payments. I've tried checking my EDD account for updates but there's nothing new. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do to get this resolved? I'm getting really worried about my finances.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been 6 weeks for me and still nothing. The system is so broken 😤 Have you tried calling? That's what I'm gonna do next week if nothing changes.

Good luck with that. I've been trying to call for weeks and can never get through. It's like playing the lottery 🎰

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's steep. Is it really worth it?

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to finally get my claim sorted.

Just used it today. Can confirm it works! Got through in about 2 hours.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your EDD inbox for any messages or requests for additional info 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date 3. Double-check that your identity verification is complete 4. If everything looks good on your end, you'll need to speak with a rep Unfortunately, getting through on the phone is a nightmare. Your best bet is to keep calling persistently or use one of those auto-dialer services. Good luck!

Thanks for the detailed response! I've done all of those things already. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and start calling 😩

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every update. It might come in handy later.

OMG the EDD is such a joke 🤡 I swear they're doing this on purpose to make people give up. Stay strong OP!

Quick question - did you have any gaps in your employment history or did you work for multiple employers? Sometimes that can cause delays.

Nope, I've been with the same company for 5 years until I got laid off. Should be pretty straightforward...

Hmm, that is weird then. Definitely sounds like you need to talk to someone directly. Hope you get it sorted soon!

Anyone else notice that ever since they "upgraded" their system, everything's been worse? 🤔 I miss the old website, at least it worked most of the time.
