EDD Payment Authorization Issues - Rep Refused to Help. What Now?
I filed a claim for unemployment benefits last week and now I'm having issues with payment authorization. I tried calling the EDD but the representative refused to help me. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do to get my claim fixed?

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been dealing with payment authorization issues for MONTHS. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits.

•Months?! That's insane. How are you surviving?

•Barely. Living off savings and help from family. It's a nightmare.

•Have you tried contacting your local assemblymember? They can sometimes help speed things up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Got through to an agent in about an hour.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Beats calling 100 times a day for weeks.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Check your UI Online account daily for any new messages or requests for information. 3. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through UI Online. 5. As a last resort, contact your local assemblymember or state senator's office. They can often intervene on your behalf. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off.

I swear the EDD is run by clowns 🤡 How hard is it to just process claims and answer the damn phone?

Quick question - did you receive any notices or letters from EDD about your payment authorization? Sometimes they send important info by mail that doesn't show up online.

•Not yet, but it's only been a week. Should I be expecting something?

•Yeah, keep an eye on your mailbox. They might send something asking for additional info or verification.

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my identity verification didn't go through properly. Had to upload my docs again and then it got fixed.
