EDD Disability: DE2593 form missing, payments stopped. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my disability claim. My doctor submitted the DE2525 form about a month ago, but I still haven't received the DE2593 form to submit my Continued Claim Certification. My disability was extended, but I'm not getting paid because of this missing form. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to speed things up?

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they make it as difficult as possible on purpose. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call for days, but it's always busy or I get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean like, the second they open. Set an alarm and everything. It's ridiculous, but it worked for me.

Calling is useless, I spent 3 hours on hold last week and got nowhere. The system is broken af 🤮

I had a similar issue last year. What worked for me was sending a message through the online portal. Make sure to include all the details - dates, form numbers, everything. It took about a week, but they finally sent me the form.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes those forms end up there. Also, double-check that they have your correct mailing address on file.

Good idea, I'll check my spam folder. My address is correct tho, I made sure of that when I filed initially.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks to actually talk to a human? Sign me up! 🤣 The sad state of our system, folks.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when your doctor submitted the DE2525 and all your attempts to contact EDD. 2. Try faxing a request for the DE2593 form. Sometimes old school methods work better. 3. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can cut through the red tape. 4. If all else fails, file a complaint with the state ombudsman. It's their job to investigate these issues. 5. Keep certifying for benefits even without the form if possible. You don't want to miss out on backpay. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through this.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try faxing and reaching out to my rep. You're a lifesaver! 💯

This is gold. Saving this for future reference. The EDD should hire you to fix their mess lol

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage people from claiming benefits. Makes my blood boil.

Have you considered going to your local EDD office in person? Sometimes face-to-face interaction can resolve these issues faster.

I didn't even know that was an option! Do you know if I need an appointment?

Last time I went, it was first-come, first-served. But that was pre-covid, might wanna check their website to be sure.
