EDD never sent 2525xx form, need email ASAP & deadline extension. Help!
I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I never got the 2525xx form in the mail for supplemental certification. I need it sent to my email ASAP so I can print it and have my doctor fill it out. Plus, I need an extension on the due date because I've lost a week waiting for this form. I've emailed them four times through their portal asking for the form, but I never get any response. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get through to them?

Ugh, classic EDD bs. I swear they make everything as difficult as possible. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get anything done.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through once doing that, but it took like 20 tries 🙄

Calling is useless. I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected. This system is a joke!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to get through?

It took about 45 minutes for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than doing it yourself!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD. It worked for me when I was stuck in limbo for weeks.

This happened to me too! I ended up driving to the nearest EDD office (about an hour away) and they were able to print the form for me right there. It was a pain, but at least I got it done.

That's good to know! I might have to do that if I can't get through on the phone. How long did you have to wait at the office?

I got there early, like 30 mins before they opened, and still waited about 2 hours. Bring a book lol

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Try calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. Be persistent. 3. If calling doesn't work, use the contact form on their website AND send a physical letter explaining your situation. 4. Reach out to your local state representative or assembly member. They often have liaisons who can intervene on your behalf. 5. If all else fails, consider filing a complaint with the state labor board. Remember, you're entitled to these benefits. Don't let their bureaucracy discourage you. Keep pushing!

This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for EDD help. Sometimes you can find insider tips there.

Filing a complaint worked for me! It lit a fire under their a** and I got a call back within 48 hours.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage people from claiming benefits. So messed up.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in their system.

I feel your pain, OP. I've been dealing with EDD for 3 months now. It's like talking to a brick wall. Hang in there!
