EDD Callback System Not Working - No One There When I Answer
Has anyone else had issues with the call back system lately? I've used it a few times before and it always worked great - someone was on the line as soon as I picked up. But today, I answered within seconds and there was no one there. Is this happening to anyone else? Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

I found a way to solve callback system failures, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyVWMipWmeQ

Ugh, I've been having the same problem! It's so frustrating when you're waiting for that important call and then... nothing. I wonder if they're having technical issues or something?

•Could be a glitch in their system. Have you tried calling them directly to report the issue?

•Not yet, but that's a good idea. I'll give it a shot and see what they say. Thanks!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but honestly, after wasting hours on hold, it was worth every penny to me. Saved me so much time and frustration.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 45 minutes in my case, but I've heard it can vary depending on how busy they are. Still way faster than doing it myself!

This has been happening to me too! I thought I was going crazy. Called them and they said there were no issues on their end. 🙄

Have you tried calling at different times of the day? I've noticed that early morning or late afternoon seems to work better for me.

•That's a good tip, thanks! I'll try calling earlier tomorrow and see if that helps.

Okay, so here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. The callback system can be overloaded, especially during peak times. 2. Sometimes there's a delay between when you answer and when the agent is connected. 3. Make sure your phone isn't blocking unknown numbers. 4. If you're using a cell phone, try using a landline if possible. 5. Keep your phone close and answer immediately - there's only a short window before it disconnects. 6. If all else fails, you might need to just stay on hold yourself (I know, it sucks). Hope this helps someone! We're all in the same boat here. 💪

•This is super helpful, thanks for sharing! I'm gonna try the landline tip tomorrow.

•Great advice! I'd add that sometimes redialing immediately after a failed callback works too.

•Ikr? It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible 🙄

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative about this? Maybe if enough of us complain, they'll actually do something to fix the system.

I've been having the exact same issue! The callback system worked perfectly for me last month, but this week it's been a total disaster. I answer within the first ring and just hear silence or a dial tone. Really frustrating when you're already dealing with disability claim stress. I noticed it seems to happen more during busy hours (10am-2pm), so I'm going to try Amelia's suggestion about calling early morning. Has anyone had luck getting through to report this as a technical issue to EDD directly?
