Can't reach EDD about disability claim - no notices, just need to talk to someone. Help!

I tried calling EDD about my disability claim but couldn't get through. Wasted my time and money. Anyone else having trouble reaching them? What should I do next? I don't have any letters or notices from them, just need to talk to someone.

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD's phone system is a nightmare. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

I've tried that but no luck. It's so frustrating. Do you know if there's a better time to call?

I've heard late afternoon can be good too, like around 3:30 or 4. But honestly, it's hit or miss. Keep trying and don't give up!

Pro tip: use the Spanish line even if you don't speak Spanish. They usually have English-speaking agents and shorter wait times. 👀

Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling. Just be prepared to wait a few days for a response.

I found a way to actually get through to EDD! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Make sure you have all your claim details ready before you call. Dates, documents, everything. It'll make the process smoother if you do get through.

Good advice, thanks. I'll gather everything I can find related to my claim.

The whole system is broken af. I've been trying to reach them for weeks. This is ridiculous. We need to complain to our representatives or something.

Preach! 🙌 The government needs to fix this mess. We're all suffering because of their incompetence.

I actually wrote to my state rep about this. Got a generic response, but maybe if more of us do it, they'll take notice?

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. 2. Use their online portal if possible. Sometimes you can resolve issues there without calling. 3. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. 4. If you can't get through, try reaching out to your local state representative's office. They sometimes have direct lines to EDD. 5. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for EDD claimants. They often have good tips and can provide moral support. 6. If all else fails, consider using a paid service like the one mentioned earlier. It might be worth the cost to save time and stress. Hang in there, OP. The system sucks, but don't give up!
