Where can I check my CalWORKs SAR7 status besides calling the county office?
I submitted my SAR7 form two weeks ago through BenefitsCal but haven't heard anything back. My worker never answers the phone and I'm worried about my benefits being cut off. Is there anywhere else I can check if my SAR7 was processed besides calling? Can I see updated info on BenefitsCal or do I need to physically go to the office? I work during office hours so it's really hard for me to get there in person. Last time I tried checking my status online it still showed as 'pending' even after they'd already processed it. Any advice on how to confirm my report was received?

u can check status on BenefitsCal but it's usually not updated rite away. sometimes takes like 3-4 days after they process it to show up in the system. i had same problem last month. u might also try checking ur EBT account balance on the date ur supposed to get benefits - if the money shows up then obv they processed ur SAR7 lol

•Thanks! I'll keep checking my BenefitsCal account. My benefits usually come on the 1st so I guess that's when I'll know for sure. I just get so anxious because last time they discontinued me without telling me because they said something was missing from my form.

There are a few ways to check your SAR7 status without calling: 1. BenefitsCal portal (though as mentioned, it can be delayed in updating) 2. MyBenefits CalWIN mobile app if your county uses CalWIN 3. Check your mail carefully - they should send a confirmation receipt of your SAR7 4. Email your worker if your county has that option 5. Set up text alerts for your case if available in your county Also, when you submitted through BenefitsCal, did you get a confirmation number? You should always screenshot or write down that number as proof of submission.

•I did get a confirmation number and took a screenshot! Didn't know about the MyBenefits CalWIN app - I'll check if that's available in Los Angeles County. Thanks for the tips!

After struggling with the same issue, I found that using Claimyr helped me actually get through to my worker. I spent WEEKS trying to confirm my SAR7 was processed correctly, and kept getting disconnected from the county line. A friend told me about claimyr.com - they basically wait on hold for you and call you when a worker actually picks up. Check out their demo video: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwE Once I finally talked to my worker, I found out they were missing a pay stub I thought I'd uploaded. Could have saved so much stress if I'd known sooner!

•It worked for me after I'd tried calling for days. The thing I liked was that I didn't have to sit by my phone waiting on hold. I put in my number and they called me when they got someone on the line. Saved me from having to miss work to deal with this stuff.

DONT TRUST BENEFITSCAL!!! I uploaded my SAR7 and it said "received" but they still cut off my benefits because they claimed they never got it!!! The whole system is designed to kick people off. Always always ALWAYS get a receipt if you go in person. And if you upload take screenshots with timestamps. They'll blame YOU even when THEIR system fails.

•This happened to me too! I uploaded everything and even got the confirmation email but somehow one document was "missing" when they reviewed it. Now I take screenshots of EVERYTHING and follow up with a phone call to confirm they received everything. It's exhausting having to constantly prove we're doing things right.

If your county office has a lobby with self-service kiosks, you can go there and check your case status. Some places also have drop boxes where you can leave a note requesting status update and your worker will call you back. I know u said getting to the office is hard during work hours but some counties have extended hours one day a week (like till 7pm on Thursdays or something).

•That's helpful to know about extended hours! I'll call the main number to see if my office has that. The kiosks would be perfect if I could get there.

Did you get a receipt when you submitted your SAR7 through BenefitsCal? Always keep that as proof. You can also try contacting your local legal aid office if your benefits get cut off without proper notice - they might be able to help expedite reinstatement. Each county has different systems, but many now have customer service centers separate from your assigned worker where someone can at least confirm receipt.

•I did get an electronic receipt and saved it! Good idea about the legal aid office - I wrote down their number after what happened last time. I'll try the general customer service line too rather than my specific worker.

Just wanted to update everyone - I finally got through to my worker yesterday! Turns out they were missing verification for my new job hours even though I uploaded the documents. They said sometimes attachments don't go through properly on BenefitsCal. I re-submitted everything and they confirmed my benefits will continue. Thanks for all the advice!

•Great news! For future reference, when you upload documents to BenefitsCal, always go back to the main page and check under "Documents" to make sure they're actually showing as received. Sometimes the upload fails at the final step even when it seems to go through. Glad you got it sorted out!
