Will there be another P-EBT 0-6 reload in 2025? Running out of benefits
My family has been relying on the P-EBT 0-6 benefits for my twins who just turned 4. Our last reload was about 6 weeks ago, and we're starting to get worried as funds are getting low. Does anyone know if California is planning another reload soon? I checked the CDSS website but couldn't find any clear information about future P-EBT distributions for 2025. I know they sometimes announce these things last minute. Has anyone received any notification letters or heard anything from their county worker? Getting really anxious as grocery prices keep climbing.

•Thanks for the info! I didn't get any text, but I'll double check that my contact info is updated on BenefitsCal. Really hoping we get that June reload.

The P-EBT program for children under 6 has been extended through the fiscal year 2025, but the issuance schedule is determined quarterly based on federal funding approvals. The last official announcement I saw indicated benefits would be reloaded every other month, but they've been somewhat inconsistent. The next scheduled reload should be happening in mid to late June for most eligible households, but it depends on when your children's birthdays fall in the quarter. If you're struggling while waiting, I'd suggest applying for regular CalFresh benefits if you haven't already - you can receive both simultaneously if you qualify. The income limits increased about 30% this year due to cost of living adjustments.

I HATE how they keep us guessing with these benefits!!! 🤬 They drop money on the card whenever they feel like it with NO warning and expect us to budget without knowing when the next payment comes. My daughter's card had $0 for TWO MONTHS last year then suddenly got $450 with no notice. The whole P-EBT system is a joke. And good luck getting anyone on the phone who knows anything about it.

•When I needed answers about my daughter's P-EBT card last month, I was able to actually reach someone at the county using Claimyr. You basically enter your number on their website (claimyr.com), and they call the agency for you, wait on hold, then call you when a real person answers. Saved me literally hours of hold time. They have a demo video that explains it better than I can: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. The worker I spoke with confirmed that P-EBT benefits are continuing through 2025 with bi-monthly distributions, but there can be delays between batches.

I got a letter yesterday saying theres another P-EBT benefit coming in late June but it also said something confusing about "adjusted eligibility criteria" based on summer program participation? Not sure if thats for regular P-EBT or the 0-6 program. The letter mentioned something about household income recalculations too. Anyone else get this notice? Im so confused by all these different EBT programs!!

•That letter is referring to the Summer EBT program which is different from the P-EBT 0-6 program you're asking about. The Summer EBT is tied to free/reduced lunch eligibility and summer program participation, while P-EBT 0-6 is specifically for young children in CalFresh-eligible households. The household income recalculations are part of the annual adjustments for inflation - the income limits increased by about 32% this year, meaning more families qualify. For P-EBT 0-6, here's the official schedule for 2025: - January (already issued) - March (already issued) - June (upcoming) - August (planned) - October (planned) - December (planned) Benefits are typically loaded between the 10th-25th of these months, and each issuance covers two months of benefits.

this happened to me last year where i thought i was getting pebt then realized it was actually regular calfresh that i was confusing it with. are you sure your talking about pebt and not regular calfresh? my worker told me pebt is different and you dont need to reapply for it it just comes if your eligible but the amounts are different. like $125 per kid or something

•You're absolutely right that there's often confusion between the programs. To clarify: - Regular CalFresh: The ongoing food assistance program you apply for through your county, with monthly benefits loaded onto an EBT card - P-EBT 0-6: A separate program specifically for children under 6 in CalFresh households, with benefits loaded onto a separate P-EBT card about every other month ($29-33 per eligible child per eligible month in 2025) - Summer EBT: A newer program that provides food benefits during summer months for school-aged children The OP is specifically asking about the P-EBT 0-6 program, which doesn't require a separate application if the children are already part of a CalFresh household. The next reload should be happening in June according to the CDSS schedule.

UPDATE: Our P-EBT card just got reloaded this morning! $198 for each child, which I think covers June and July. So they're definitely starting to issue the June payments now. Check your cards everyone!

For anyone else following this thread who might be confused about P-EBT eligibility: 1. The P-EBT 0-6 program is continuing through fiscal year 2025 (ends September 2025) 2. Children must be under 6 years old 3. Your household must receive CalFresh benefits or be newly eligible under the expanded income guidelines 4. Benefit amounts for 2025 are $33 per child per eligible month 5. Payments come every other month, covering two months of benefits ($66 per child typically) 6. The schedule for 2025 has benefits being issued in January, March, June, August, October, and December If you're having trouble accessing your benefits or have questions about eligibility, contact your county CalFresh office. The P-EBT customer service line (877-328-9677) is often overwhelmed, so reaching your direct county worker is usually more effective.
