When will San Bernardino County distribute P-EBT 0.3 benefits in 2025?
Anyone have info on when San Bernardino County will finally start issuing the P-EBT 0.3 benefits? My kids qualify according to the letter we got back in February, but we haven't received anything on our card yet. Meanwhile my sister in LA County got hers two weeks ago! Called the P-EBT hotline twice but just got the automated message saying benefits are being issued 'on a rolling basis.' I'm starting to worry there's an issue with our case specifically.

•So you're in San Bernardino too and your neighbor already got theirs?? Now I'm really worried. Did they say anything about how they qualified?

San Bernardino County is actually scheduled for P-EBT 0.3 distribution this month (May 2025), according to the latest CDSS schedule. They're issuing benefits alphabetically by last name, with A-M in the first two weeks and N-Z in the last two weeks. The delay compared to LA County is normal - they always distribute by county size with larger counties first. Your sister probably got hers earlier because LA was in the April distribution group.

•Thank you! That makes sense. Our last name starts with W so I guess we'll be in the very last group. I wish they'd communicate this better in those letters they send out.

•Wait, I thought the P-EBT 0.3 was only for families that got free school lunches? My kids get reduced price meals, does that mean we qualify too? The letter was super confusing about eligibility requirements...

•Both free AND reduced-price meal eligible students qualify for P-EBT 0.3, but the benefit amounts differ slightly. For reduced-price eligible students, the benefit is about 15% lower than for free meal eligible students. The letter should have specified which category your children fall under and the expected benefit amount.

The P-EBT 0.3 distribution for San Bernardino County officially began on May 10th, 2025, but as mentioned, they're doing it alphabetically by last name. One important thing to note - if you also receive regular CalFresh benefits, make sure your address is current in your BenefitsCal account. P-EBT pulls address data from both school records AND CalFresh records, and they'll use the most recent one. If there's a mismatch, it could delay your benefits or even result in a new card being mailed instead of loading to your existing one.

•We do get regular CalFresh too! I'll double-check our address right now. We moved last year but I thought I updated everything. Thank you for this tip!

I've been waiting too!!! So frustrating when you keep checking the card and nothing's there. Anyone know how much we're supposed to get per kid this time? The letter had some calculation I couldn't understand AT ALL.

•For P-EBT 0.3, the benefit is $120 per eligible child for each month they qualified during the covered period (September 2024-January 2025). So potentially up to $600 per child if they qualified all five months. For reduced-price eligible students, it's $102 per month or up to $510 total per child.

I've been dealing with this same issue and wanted to pull my hair out trying to reach someone at the county who could give me a straight answer! After days of trying the regular phone line and getting nowhere, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to an actual person at San Bernardino County. They confirmed my benefits are scheduled for the May 22-26 batch based on my last name. Saved me so much stress! They have this video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. Definitely worth it when you need actual answers instead of those useless automated messages.

THEY ARE ALWAYS LATE WITH EVERYTHING!!! I've been waiting for both my CalFresh recertification to process AND this P-EBT thing for my grandkids who live with me. San Bernardino County is THE WORST in California I swear. LA, Orange, San Diego all get their benefits on time while we wait and wait and wait. I'm so tired of this!!!!

•I understand your frustration, but just to clarify, P-EBT is actually administered at the state level, not by individual counties. The rollout schedule is determined by CDSS and CDE jointly. Counties with larger populations (like LA) are simply scheduled earlier in the distribution timeline because they have more cases to process. San Bernardino is actually in the middle of the distribution schedule, not at the end.

Has anyone who already received their P-EBT 0.3 gotten the full amount? I'm worried they'll prorate it or something. My neighbor in Victorville (also San Bernardino County) said she only got half of what she expected last week.

•That's concerning. I wonder if they're splitting the payments for some reason? I really hope not - we're counting on that money for our summer food budget with the kids home from school.

•There have been some reports of split payments for P-EBT 0.3, but that's actually by design. For families with multiple eligible children, they sometimes split the issuance over two payment dates to prevent technical issues with large deposits. Your neighbor should receive the second half within 5-7 business days of the first payment. This is mentioned in the fine print of the notification letters.

One more important thing to note: If you've moved since your child's school last updated their records, or if your CalFresh address isn't current, you should call the P-EBT helpline at 877-328-9677 right away. The deadline to request address changes for this issuance is May 20th, 2025. After that, any misdirected cards or benefits might take significantly longer to resolve.

•Thank you for this information! I checked my BenefitsCal account and our address is current, but I realized my daughter's school might have our old address. I'll contact them tomorrow to make sure everything matches up.
