P-EBT cards not received in Inland Empire - anyone else waiting?
Has anyone in Riverside/San Bernardino area gotten their P-EBT cards yet? My kids qualified according to the letter we got back in January, and the website says they started mailing them out last month, but nothing in our mailbox. Getting worried since we could really use the extra food money. The automated line just says 'cards are being processed' when I call. Anyone else in IE area still waiting or did you get yours already? The letter said something like $1,800 per kid for the whole school year which would be amazing right now.

Thanks! How do I check the address on the website? I've moved since the beginning of the school year but updated with the school. Now I'm worried!

The P-EBT cards are being sent out in phases based on county and age of children. Inland Empire families are scheduled in the current distribution phase, but it can take 3-4 weeks for all eligible households to receive their cards. I recommend checking your address at https://ca.p-ebt.org/en/ by clicking on 'Check Your Information.' If your address is correct but you haven't received anything by the end of next week, you should call the P-EBT helpline at 877-328-9677. You might face long wait times though. Make sure to have your case number from the eligibility letter ready.

Thanks for the detailed info! I didn't realize they were doing it in phases. I'll check the website today and give it until next week before calling.

So tired of this system!!! I'm in Rancho and STILL waiting for my kids P-EBT. Called FIVE TIMES and only get recordings. They sent me a letter saying my kids qualified then NOTHING. Meanwhile my sister in Fontana got hers weeks ago!! How does that make ANY sense?! Anyone know someone who actually ANSWERS at the P-EBT number?????

Try calling right when they open at 8am. That's what I did and only waited 20 mins.

I was in the same situation with P-EBT for my grandkids who live with me. After two weeks of trying the regular number, I finally got through to someone by using Claimyr. It's a service that holds your place in line and calls you back when a real person is available. Saved me hours of waiting on hold. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 that shows how it works. The P-EBT worker confirmed our cards were sent out but to our old address! They're reissuing new ones now.

I've never heard of this service. Does it work specifically for the P-EBT line or any government benefit line? The wait times are ridiculous.

It works for CalFresh, P-EBT, CalWORKs, and most county benefit phone lines. Basically anywhere you'd normally wait on hold for hours. Definitely worth it for me since I couldn't stay on hold all day with my work schedule.

Just got ours yesterday in Riverside! The weird thing is the letter came in January but the cards just now, almost 5 months later. And they came in a really plain white envelope that looked like junk mail - almost threw it away! So check your mail carefully. They don't look like the regular EBT cards - they're white with a blue edge. Each kid got their own card too with their name on it.

Omg thank you for mentioning this! I have a stack of mail I need to go through more carefully now. I was looking for something official-looking!

P-EBT is different from CalFresh. P-EBT provides food benefits to families with children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Your children can receive P-EBT even if you already get CalFresh benefits - they're separate programs. If your children qualify for free/reduced lunch at school, they should qualify for P-EBT regardless of your CalFresh status.

make sure u activate the cards as soon as u get them!! my neighbor didnt and now shes having issues. u gotta call the number on the card and set up a pin. also the amount on the card is different for each kid based on when they were enrolled in school and if the school was virtual or in-person during part of the year

Yes! And make sure you keep the card even after you spend the money because they sometimes add more benefits later.

UPDATE: You guys aren't going to believe this, but I found our P-EBT cards!! They were in that stack of mail I mentioned, in a plain white envelope just like someone said. I almost threw it away thinking it was credit card offers! Got one card for each of my two kids with their names on them. Called the number and activated both - the first one has $1,730 and the second has $1,880 (I guess because one started school later). Thank you everyone for your help!!

Great news! Glad you were able to locate them. Just a reminder that these P-EBT benefits are good for up to one year from the issuance date, so you don't need to use them all right away.
