Has anyone in San Diego received their P-EBT benefits for 2025 yet?

Hey all! Im wondering if anyone in the San Diego area has gotten their P-EBT benefits loaded yet for this quarter? My kids qualify through their school lunch program and we usually get it by now but nothing on our card yet. The school said all eligible families should be getting it but couldnt tell me when. Ive checked the balance like 10 times this week and still zero. Starting to worry since groceries are so expensive these days and we really count on that extra $825 for the three kiddos. Anyone else still waiting or did you get yours already?

I got mine last week for my 2 kids. Check ur address is up to date in the system. They sometimes delay cards if they think the address might be wrong. Call the P-EBT hotline maybe?

Thanks! What number did you call? I tried the regular EBT customer service and they just said they don't handle P-EBT questions 🙄

P-EBT is being distributed in phases this year based on the first letter of the child's last name. If your child's last name starts with letters N-Z, the benefits won't be loaded until next week according to the schedule. First group (A-M) started receiving benefits last week. This is different from previous years when everyone received benefits simultaneously. You can verify your status at the California P-EBT portal: https://ca.p-ebt.org/\n\nAlso, remember that P-EBT is separate from your regular CalFresh benefits, so you'll need to check the specific P-EBT card, not your regular EBT card if you have both.

Ohhhh that explains it!! Their last name starts with T. Thank you so much! I've been stressing out for nothing lol. And you're right - I have a separate P-EBT card for them. Really appreciate the info about the phases.

Been calling P-EBT hotline (877-328-9677) for DAYS and can't get a human!!! System just hangs up after the automated message. Anyone know how to actually reach a person??? We never got our card from last time and now supposedly new benefits but HOW DO WE ACCESS THEM??? So frustrated with this broken system!!!

Omg same here!! It's literally impossible to talk to anyone about P-EBT problems. I waited 55 minutes yesterday only to get disconnected 😤

my neighbor works for the school district and she said they sent all the eligibility info late this year so everything's delayed by like 3 weeks from normal. her kids didnt get theirs yet either

There's actually a really helpful service called Claimyr that can help you get through to a real person at the P-EBT customer service line. I was struggling with the same issue - kept getting disconnected or stuck in automated loops. With Claimyr, they wait on hold for you and call you back when there's a real person on the line. Saved me hours of frustration. You can check it out at claimyr.com or see how it works here: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8\n\nThe P-EBT distribution schedule has been really confusing this year with the new alphabetical rollout, so getting accurate information directly from a representative is worth it if you're worried.

Is this legit? I'm so desperate I'll try anything at this point but I don't want to give my info to some scam.

Completely legit. They don't access your benefits or anything, just help you connect with the actual government workers. I found it through my county's resource list actually.

I got my P-EBT for my daughter last Thursday (we're in North County). My last name starts with C so fits with what the other person said about the A-M group. The amount was higher this time too - $275 per child versus $250 per child last time. Not sure if that's county-specific or statewide though.

Good to know about the higher amount! That'll help even more with these insane grocery prices. My friend in Imperial County said theirs was $250 still, so maybe it is county-specific?

ppl keep confusing P-EBT with regular calfresh too... totally different things! P-EBT is for kids who get free/reduced lunch at school, calfresh is the regular food stamp program for everybody. u can have both tho

Update for everyone: San Diego County just announced they're experiencing technical issues with the P-EBT system affecting approximately 15,000 eligible children. If your child's last name starts with T-V specifically, there's an additional delay of up to 7 business days. The county is working to resolve the issue and benefits will be retroactive. You can sign up for text notifications about the status at ca.p-ebt.org/notify
