If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just checking back - were you able to get to your county office for an emergency replacement card? If you're still waiting, remember most counties are required to expedite replacement cards when there's a food security issue involved, especially for households with children. Make sure you specifically mention when you call that you have children and limited food in the house.

Yes! Thank you for checking back. I went to the county office yesterday after calling them first. I had to wait about 2 hours, but they were able to print a temporary card for me that will work until the permanent one arrives. So relieved! For anyone else reading this with the same problem - definitely go in person if you can, it's much faster than waiting for mail!

To clarify what everyone is saying: The CalFresh 3.0 emergency allotment was a specialized program that provided two supplemental payments in March and April 2025. This is different from the pandemic emergency allotments that ran monthly from 2020-2022. If your benefits aren't sufficient, here are some actionable steps: 1. Report any increase in expenses (rent, utilities, childcare, medical) immediately using a SAR 7 or by contacting your county office 2. Make sure all eligible household members are included in your case 3. Verify all deductions are being properly applied (many households don't receive all deductions they qualify for) 4. Check if you qualify for expedited services if your situation becomes more severe The income reporting threshold (IRT) for CalFresh is now 150% of your household's gross monthly income limit. Be sure to report any income changes over this threshold within 10 days.

This is incredibly helpful - thank you! I didn't realize I could report expense increases outside of recertification. I'm going to gather my new rent agreement and childcare receipts and submit them this week. Do you happen to know what the current gross monthly income limit is for a family of 4? Just want to make sure we're still eligible with my husband's recent raise.

0 coins

For a household of 4 in 2025, the gross monthly income limit for CalFresh is approximately $3,950. Your IRT (Income Reporting Threshold) would be 150% of that figure, so around $5,925. As long as your household's total gross monthly income stays below the income limit, you should remain eligible, though the benefit amount may adjust based on the exact income. When reporting your husband's raise, make sure to provide documentation like a pay stub or employer letter to verify the new income amount.

btw does anyone know if the emergency allotments count towards the resource limit test for medi-cal? i got both payments but am worried about my medi-cal redetermination coming up

0 coins

Great question - CalFresh benefits (including emergency allotments) do NOT count as income or resources for Medi-Cal eligibility. The emergency allotments were considered the same type of benefit as regular CalFresh, just supplemental. You don't need to report them as income for your Medi-Cal redetermination.

My niece got like $350 for missing 2 days!!! The amounts are crazy and make no sense. not that I'm complaining lol

0 coins

That's unlikely for just 2 days of absence. The $350 likely included other factors - perhaps retroactive payments from previous months that weren't processed, or your niece might attend a school with higher reimbursement rates. There's also a possibility the parent/guardian misunderstood what period the payment covered. PEBT calculations follow specific formulas based on the school's meal rates, days missed, and whether the child qualifies for free/reduced lunch.

UPDATE: So I called the number on the back of the PEBT card and finally got through to someone. They confirmed the amount is correct! The $202 covers the 5 days she missed, plus there was a small supplemental amount for January's benefits that got added retroactively because of some policy change. They said I should definitely use it and not worry about having to pay it back. Thanks everyone for your help!

glad u got it figured out! the extra money always helps with groceries these days

As someone who's helped several clients with this issue, I want to clarify some information: 1. Yes, California now has a limited EBT theft reimbursement program as of October 2024 2. You must report the theft within 10 days of discovery 3. You need to submit form CF 303 along with a police report 4. The county can replace benefits stolen via skimming/electronic theft (not PIN-based transactions) 5. There's a maximum of two months of replacements per federal fiscal year 6. Processing time is typically 15-30 days The most critical factor is documenting everything and following up persistently. Many county workers aren't fully trained on the new replacement program yet, so you might need to specifically mention "Administrative Notice 24-12 regarding EBT benefit theft replacement" to get to the right person. Also, request a PIN change and new card immediately to prevent further theft.

Thank you for this detailed information! I've been trying to reach my county office all day without success. I'll definitely mention that Administrative Notice when I finally get through. Do you happen to know if there's an online way to submit the CF 303 form? Or does it have to be done over the phone or in person?

0 coins

Unfortunately, the CF 303 still requires a signature, so it can't be submitted entirely online. However, you can download the form from the CDSS website, fill it out, and then either: 1. Upload the signed form through your BenefitsCal account under "Submit Verification" 2. Email it to your county office (if they accept emails) 3. Fax it 4. Bring it in person I recommend option #1 or #4 for fastest processing. And make sure to follow up by phone after submitting to confirm they received it!

Update on this issue: The state recently announced additional EBT security measures rolling out in 2025. They're finally adding chip technology to new cards and implementing transaction alerts via text message. But that doesn't help right now, unfortunately. One thing I didn't see mentioned - if you're approved for replacement benefits, make sure you request a new card with a different card number before those replacement benefits are loaded. Otherwise, if your card information was compromised through skimming, thieves could potentially access the replacement benefits too.

0 coins

I had no idea they were finally adding chip technology - that's long overdue! And thank you for the tip about getting a new card before replacement benefits are loaded. I wouldn't have thought of that. I was able to reach my county worker today (after many tries) and they're sending me the CF 303 form. Fingers crossed this works out!

Just to clarify some information in this thread: 1. The program changed names from P-EBT (pandemic-related) to Summer EBT (federal name) to Summer Food Benefits (California's implementation name) 2. Each county follows the same state distribution schedule, but some counties may be processing faster than others 3. Children in the same household may receive cards on different days even with the same last name - this is normal 4. The benefit amount is $43.50 per child per month (June, July, August) totaling $130.50 per child for summer 2025 5. Once activated, benefits remain available for 274 days If you're having trouble reaching someone, you can also check status at calfresh.dss.ca.gov/summer or text SUMMEREBT to 877-877.

0 coins

Thank you for these additional details! I'll try texting that number to check our status. Just curious - do these Summer Food Benefits get loaded onto our regular CalFresh EBT card or is it a completely separate card? Trying to know exactly what I'm looking for in the mail.

0 coins

It's a completely separate white card that looks different from your regular Golden State Advantage EBT card. It will come in a white envelope addressed to your child (not to you), which is why these sometimes get overlooked in the mail. The card itself will say "California Summer Food Benefits" on it.

omg this explains why i almost threw mine away!!! it was addressed to my 3 year old son not me lol. who sends mail to toddlers?? so weird
