Will changing my phone PIN for weekly claims trigger ESD adjudication?
Hey everyone, quick question about filing weekly claims by phone instead of online. I've been doing my weekly certifications through eServices since I started my claim, but my internet has been super spotty lately and I want to switch to using the phone system. Problem is, I set up a phone PIN when I first applied like 4 months ago and I have NO IDEA what I chose (bad habit of mine). I can log into my eServices account and reset the phone PIN, but I'm paranoid this might flag something in their system and throw my claim into adjudication. The last thing I need is my payments getting held up for weeks while they review my account. Has anyone changed their telephone PIN recently? Did it cause any issues with your claim processing? Thanks for any insight!

•Oh thank god! That's a relief. Did you notice any difference between filing online vs by phone? Is one faster than the other?

Changing your telephone PIN won't trigger adjudication - it's just a security feature for accessing your information, not part of your claim data. I've worked with many claimants who've needed to reset their PINs and it's a completely routine process. Just make sure you pick something you'll remember this time! The phone system works well but has fewer options than the website, so keep that in mind. You can always switch back and forth between methods depending on your needs each week.

•Is the phone system actually working right now? I tried calling last week and it just kept hanging up on me after I entered my SSN. Ended up having to use the website anyway even though I hate it.

NOTHING with ESD is ever simple! I changed my PIN last year and somehow it locked me out of BOTH phone AND online access for two weeks!!! Had to call about 50 TIMES to reach someone and explain what happened. They acted like I was trying to commit fraud or something. Took forever to fix. If I were you I'd stick with online filing if it's working at all.

•That's unusual - changing a PIN shouldn't affect online access at all since they use different authentication systems. Sounds like there might have been a separate account security issue happening simultaneously. The systems are generally separate.

When I broke my wrist last year I had to switch to phone filing temporarily and forgot my PIN too. Changed it online no problem. But honestly the phone system is slower cause you have to listen to all those prompts. Just annoying. Going back to online filing was such a relief.

If you're having trouble reaching ESD by phone for any claim issues (including PIN resets if the online option isn't working), I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was desperate after trying for days to get through on my own, and their service connected me to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a good demo video of how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out. Saved me hours of redial frustration!

•Thanks for the tip! My PIN reset through eServices worked fine, but I'll definitely keep Claimyr in mind if I run into bigger issues. Those ESD hold times are brutal - I once waited 3 hours only to get disconnected.

I think evryones missing something important here... Are you having ADJUDICATION right now? Because if your claim is already in adjudication, making ANY changes could delay things even more. My sister-in-law was in adjudication for identity verification and she changed her address online and it reset her place in line or something. Ended up taking 9 weeks total!

•No, I'm not in adjudication currently! My claim has been processing normally with weekly payments. I was just worried that changing the PIN might trigger something, but it sounds like that's not an issue. Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's situation though - 9 weeks is ridiculous!

Just to follow up on your original question - changing your PIN is absolutely fine and won't affect your claim status. The UI telephone system (1-800-318-6022) and eServices are just different ways to access the same claim system. The PIN is purely for telephone security verification, similar to your eServices password being for online security. One advantage of phone filing is that it's available longer hours than the website, which sometimes goes down for maintenance. But as others mentioned, the online system offers more features like uploading documents or checking detailed claim status.

•Thank you! I changed my PIN today and everything went smoothly. I'll probably try the phone system this weekend for my weekly claim and see how it goes. Really appreciate everyone's help!
