Where is the Washington ESD unemployment office in Pendleton area?

I need to find the local Washington ESD unemployment office near Pendleton. I've been trying to handle everything online through SecureAccess Washington but I'm having issues with my weekly claim that I think need in-person help. Does anyone know if there's still a physical office in the Pendleton area or do I need to drive somewhere else? My claim has been stuck for two weeks and I can't get through on the phone.

I don't think there's a Washington ESD office in Pendleton anymore. Most of the local offices closed down a few years ago. You might have to go to Walla Walla or Spokane for in-person help.

That's what I was afraid of. Walla Walla is like 2 hours away from me. This is so frustrating.

0 coins

Actually I think the Walla Walla office might be appointment only now too. You should call ahead before making that drive.

Most Washington ESD services are handled remotely now. What specific issue are you having with your weekly claim? There might be a way to resolve it without going to an office.

My claim status shows 'adjudication in progress' but I have no idea what they're reviewing. I reported all my work hours correctly and haven't had any issues before.

Adjudication usually means they're reviewing something about your eligibility. Check your correspondence in your SecureAccess Washington account to see if they sent you any requests for information.

I was in the same boat last month trying to reach someone at Washington ESD. The phone lines are impossible. I ended up using this service called Claimyr that actually got me through to a real person. You can check it out at claimyr.com - they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

Is that one of those services that charges you to call? Seems sketchy.

0 coins

I was skeptical too but it actually worked. They handle the calling and waiting for you so you don't have to sit on hold for hours. Worth it when you really need to talk to someone.

0 coins

At this point I'm willing to try anything. The regular phone number just hangs up on me after 30 minutes of waiting.

For what it's worth, the nearest WorkSource office might be able to help with some basic questions. They're not Washington ESD but they work with unemployment services. There might be one closer than driving all the way to Walla Walla.

0 coins

Good idea, I'll look into that. Do you know if they can actually access my Washington ESD account or just provide general info?

0 coins

They can't access your account but they might be able to help you understand what's happening with your adjudication or point you in the right direction.

0 coins

this is why the system is broken, you cant even talk to a real person when you need help with your benefits

0 coins

I agree it's frustrating but they did expand online services a lot. Most issues can be resolved through SecureAccess Washington if you know where to look.

0 coins

easy to say when your claim isnt stuck in limbo for weeks

0 coins

Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? Like right at 8am when they open? I've had better luck getting through early.

0 coins

I've tried that multiple times. Still get the busy signal or get hung up after waiting forever.

0 coins

Same here. I think everyone has the same idea about calling early so it's still swamped.

0 coins

Check if there are any pending tasks in your SecureAccess Washington account under the 'To Do' section. Sometimes adjudication happens because they're waiting for you to submit additional documentation.

0 coins

I checked that already - there's nothing showing up in my to-do list. That's why I'm so confused about what they're reviewing.

0 coins

That's weird. Usually they'll tell you what they need. Have you checked your messages and correspondence section thoroughly?

0 coins

Yes, I've gone through everything multiple times. No messages, no requests, nothing.

0 coins

If you're not seeing any pending items, the adjudication might be related to a routine eligibility review or wage verification. These can take 2-4 weeks unfortunately. The fact that you're not getting any correspondence is actually somewhat normal for these types of reviews.

0 coins

That's somewhat reassuring I guess. I just wish they would communicate better about what's happening and how long it might take.

0 coins

2-4 weeks?? That's insane when people are depending on these benefits to pay rent and buy food.

0 coins

I went through adjudication last year and it took 3 weeks. Turned out they were just verifying my previous employer information. Never got any notice about it, just had to wait it out.

0 coins

Did you ever find out what specifically triggered the review?

0 coins

Never got a clear answer on that. I think it was just random or maybe because I had multiple employers in the past year.

0 coins

Just to follow up on the Claimyr thing - when I used them, I was able to get through to someone who explained exactly what was happening with my adjudication. Turned out I just needed to verify some employment dates. Saved me weeks of wondering.

0 coins

That sounds exactly like what I need. How quickly were you able to get through to someone?

0 coins

They got me connected within a couple days. Way faster than trying to call myself.

0 coins

Just want to point out that even if you find an office, most Washington ESD staff are working remotely now anyway. Phone or video calls are probably your best bet regardless.

0 coins

Good point. I was just hoping in-person might be easier but sounds like everything is remote now.

0 coins

Try sending a message through SecureAccess Washington. Sometimes that gets a response faster than calling.

0 coins

I sent one last week but haven't heard back yet. How long do they usually take to respond to messages?

0 coins

Usually 3-5 business days but could be longer if they're backlogged.

0 coins

this happened to my sister too, adjudication with no explanation. took almost a month before they approved her claim. washington esd really needs to fix their communication

0 coins

A month?? I really hope mine doesn't take that long. I'm already behind on bills.

0 coins

The lack of communication is the worst part. At least tell people what's being reviewed and give an estimated timeline.

0 coins

For future reference, the Tri-Cities WorkSource office in Kennewick might be closer to you than Walla Walla if you need in-person help with anything job search related.

0 coins

Thanks, that is closer. I'll keep that in mind for job search requirements.

0 coins

I hate to say it but you might just have to wait it out. Adjudication is one of those things where calling doesn't usually speed it up unless there's actually something you need to provide.

0 coins

I was afraid of that. Just wish I knew what they were looking at so I'd have some idea of timeline.

0 coins

That's why services like Claimyr can be helpful - at least you can get some answers about what's happening instead of just waiting blindly.

0 coins

Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even during adjudication. Don't want to miss any weeks.

0 coins

Yes, I've been keeping up with those. Just frustrating not getting paid while they review whatever they're reviewing.

0 coins

Update us when you hear something back! I'm curious how long your adjudication takes since you're not getting any communication about what they need.

0 coins

Will do. Hopefully it resolves soon. Thanks everyone for the advice and suggestions.
