When is unemployment pay day for Washington ESD weekly claims?
I just filed my first weekly claim with Washington ESD on Sunday and I'm wondering when I'll actually get the money. I've been trying to find clear info about their payment schedule but the website is confusing. Does anyone know what day of the week unemployment payments typically come through? I have direct deposit set up if that matters.

Usually Tuesday or Wednesday if you file on Sunday. Washington ESD processes payments in batches and it depends on your bank too. My credit union gets it Tuesday morning but my friend with Bank of America doesn't see it until Wednesday.

•Thanks! I have Chase so hopefully I'll see it by Wednesday. Really need this to come through soon.

Payment timing varies but generally 2-3 business days after you submit your weekly claim. Make sure you filed before 11:59 PM on Sunday for that week's payment. If you filed Monday or later, you're looking at the following week's payment cycle.

•I filed Saturday night around 8 PM, so I should be good for this week's cycle then?

Leslie Parker
•Yes, Saturday night filing counts for that week. You should see payment by Wednesday at the latest.

Been on unemployment for 6 months now. My payments always hit Tuesday around 3 AM. I check my account every Tuesday morning and it's there. If you don't see it by Thursday, then something's wrong with your claim.

•Good to know about the Thursday deadline. What usually goes wrong if payments don't show up?

•Could be anything - job search verification, identity verification, or they flagged something in your weekly claim. Sometimes their system just glitches too.

I've been dealing with Washington ESD payment delays for months and finally found a solution. There's a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helps you actually get through to a real person at Washington ESD. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Saved me hours of calling and getting hung up on.

•Is this legit? I've never heard of paying someone to help with unemployment calls.

•Yeah it's real. I was skeptical too but after spending 3 weeks trying to reach them myself, it was worth it to get answers about my payment delays.

•Interesting, might try this if my payments don't come through this week. Thanks for sharing.

The Washington ESD website says payments are processed Monday through Friday but doesn't give specific days. I think it depends on when you file and what bank you use. Some people get theirs Monday, others Thursday.

•The website is so vague about everything. Would be nice if they just said 'payments go out Tuesday' or whatever.

•Right? Everything on their site is like 'within 2-3 business days' which doesn't help when you're trying to plan bills.

I get mine every Tuesday like clockwork. File Sunday night, money hits Tuesday morning. Been consistent for 4 months now. Wells Fargo if that helps.

•That's reassuring! Sounds like Tuesday is the most common day.

•Yeah Tuesday seems to be the standard. Just make sure you file your weekly claim before Sunday at midnight.

Does anyone know if the payment day changes during holidays? Like if Monday is a holiday, does that push everything back a day?

Butch Sledgehammer
•Yes, holidays can delay payments by a day or two. I noticed this during Memorial Day weekend - my usual Tuesday payment came Wednesday instead.

•Same here. Any federal holiday seems to push the payment schedule back one day.

Been waiting 2 weeks for my payment to show up. Filed on time, no issues with my claim that I know of. Starting to panic about rent.

•Two weeks is definitely not normal. You need to contact Washington ESD immediately to find out what's holding up your payments. Check your online account for any alerts or issues.

•This is exactly why I mentioned Claimyr earlier. When payments are delayed like this, you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD right away, not wait on hold for hours.

•I've been trying to call all week but can't get through. Maybe I'll check out that Claimyr thing.

Tuesday payments here too. I have BECU and it's always there Tuesday morning when I wake up. The key is filing your weekly claim early - I do mine Saturday afternoon.

•Good tip about filing early. I waited until Sunday night which might have been cutting it close.

•Sunday night should still be fine. The cutoff is Sunday at 11:59 PM for that week's payment.

My payment day seems random. Sometimes Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday, once it was Thursday. I think it depends on how busy their system is that week.

Butch Sledgehammer
•That's unusual. Most people have a consistent day. Are you sure you're filing at the same time each week?

Morita Montoya
•Yeah I always file Sunday evening. Maybe it's my bank? I have a smaller local credit union.

•Smaller banks sometimes process ACH transfers differently. That could explain the variation.

Just want to confirm - if I file my weekly claim Saturday, I should see payment Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week, right?

Leslie Parker
•Correct. Saturday filing counts for that week's payment cycle. You should see the money by Wednesday at the latest, assuming no issues with your claim.

•Perfect, thanks for confirming. This is my first time on unemployment so I'm still learning the system.

I made the mistake of filing late once - submitted my weekly claim on Monday instead of Sunday. Had to wait until the following week's payment cycle. Don't make that mistake!

•Yikes, that would be stressful. Good reminder to file on time every week.

•Yeah it was rough going an extra week without income. Now I set a reminder on my phone for Saturday evenings.

For anyone still having trouble getting through to Washington ESD about payment issues, I had success with Claimyr too. They got me connected to an agent who explained my payment was held up because of a job search verification issue I didn't even know about.

Sara Unger
•That's exactly what I'm worried about - issues I don't know about. How quickly did they get you connected?

Kiara Greene
•It was pretty fast, like within an hour or two. Way better than the days I spent trying to call myself.

The most important thing is to file your weekly claim every week, even if your payment is delayed. If you miss filing, you could lose that week's benefits entirely.

Sara Unger
•Good point. I'll make sure to keep filing even if payments are slow.

Evelyn Kelly
•Exactly. The filing deadline is more important than the payment timing. Payments can be delayed but missed filings can't be recovered.

Update: Just got my first payment! It hit Wednesday morning like everyone said it would. Thanks for all the info in this thread.

•Great news! Wednesday is pretty typical for first-time filers. Should be more consistent going forward.
