Washington ESD - what time does unemployment deposit money into your account?
I'm expecting my unemployment payment to hit my account today and I'm wondering what time Washington ESD usually processes deposits? I filed my weekly claim on Sunday and it's been approved. My rent is due and I'm trying to figure out if I should expect the money this morning or later in the day. Does anyone know the typical deposit schedule for Washington unemployment payments?

In my experience with Washington ESD, deposits usually hit between 6-8 AM on the day they're scheduled. But it can vary depending on your bank - some banks process ACH transfers faster than others.

•Thanks! I have Chase bank, do you know if they're usually quick with processing these deposits?

•Chase is usually pretty fast with government deposits in my experience. Should be there by 8 AM if it's going in today.

Washington ESD processes payments overnight and most banks receive them early morning. I always check around 6 AM and mine is usually there. If you filed Sunday and got approved, it should be in your account by Wednesday morning at the latest.

•Perfect, that's what I was hoping to hear. I'll check first thing in the morning.

•Wednesday morning? I thought it was Tuesday for Washington unemployment payments?

•You're right, my bad. Tuesday is the normal deposit day if you file your weekly claim by Sunday night.

I've been getting my Washington ESD payments for 3 months now and they always hit my account between 5-7 AM on Tuesdays. Never had one come later than that. What bank are you using? Some credit unions are slower than major banks.

•I'm using Chase so hopefully they're on the faster side. Good to know about the 5-7 AM timeframe!

•Yeah Chase should be fine. Much better than when I had a small local bank that took until noon sometimes.

If you're having trouble reaching Washington ESD about payment timing or any other issues, I recently discovered claimyr.com - they help you get through to actual ESD agents when the phone lines are jammed. There's a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Really helpful when you need to talk to someone about your claim status.

•Is that a paid service? I've been trying to call Washington ESD for weeks about an issue.

•Yeah it costs something but honestly worth it when you consider how much time you'd spend on hold otherwise. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I might try that - been trying to reach them about my adjudication for 2 weeks now.

Wait, are we talking about regular UI payments or standby? Because standby payments have a different schedule from what I remember.

Jackie Martinez
•Regular unemployment payments, not standby. Just filed my weekly claim on Sunday.

Asher Levin
•Ok yeah then Tuesday morning should be your deposit day. Standby is different.

Pro tip: set up text alerts with your bank for deposits. That way you'll know as soon as your Washington ESD payment hits without having to constantly check your balance.

•That's a great idea! I should set that up tonight.

•Yeah most banks have that feature now. Makes the whole process less stressful.

I always get mine at exactly 6:17 AM lol, I've been tracking it. Wells Fargo seems to process Washington ESD payments at the same time every week.

Serene Snow
•Haha that's so specific! I never paid attention to the exact time but good to know Wells Fargo is consistent.

•Yeah I'm obsessive about it because I have to pay bills right away. Can't afford to wait around wondering when it'll show up.

Just make sure your weekly claim was actually processed and approved. Sometimes there's a delay if Washington ESD needs to verify something. Check your account on the Washington ESD website to confirm your claim status.

Jackie Martinez
•Already checked and it shows as processed with no issues. Thanks for reminding me to double check though!

•Good, then you should definitely see it Tuesday morning. The website status is usually accurate.

Been getting Washington unemployment for 6 months and it's always been Tuesday morning for me. Usually around 7 AM but sometimes as early as 5:30. Bank of America processes them pretty fast.

•Good to know! Seems like most people are seeing similar timing regardless of bank.

Romeo Barrett
•Yeah, I think Washington ESD sends them all out at the same time overnight and then it just depends on your bank's processing speed.

If your payment doesn't show up by Tuesday afternoon, definitely call Washington ESD. Sometimes there are system glitches or they need additional verification for your claim.

•Will do! Hopefully it won't come to that but good to know what the next step would be.

•That's another situation where claimyr.com is super helpful - gets you through to an actual person at Washington ESD instead of sitting on hold for hours.

One thing to keep in mind - if there's a bank holiday on Monday, your deposit might be delayed until Wednesday. But that's pretty rare.

Jackie Martinez
•Good point! I don't think there's a holiday this week though.

Lia Quinn
•Nope, should be a normal week. You should be good for Tuesday morning.

I remember when I first started getting unemployment I was checking my account every 5 minutes starting at midnight 😂 Now I know to just check around 7 AM Tuesday and it's always there.

Jackie Martinez
•Haha that sounds like something I would do! I'm trying to be patient but it's hard when you're counting on that money.

•Yeah the first few weeks are the worst because you don't know the pattern yet. After a while you get used to the schedule.

Quick reminder to everyone - make sure you're keeping track of your job search activities. Washington ESD requires 3 job search activities per week and they do audit these. Don't want your payments to get held up because of missing job search documentation.

•Thanks for the reminder! I always forget to log them right away and then scramble to remember what I did.

Haley Stokes
•Yeah it's best to log them immediately after you do them. Much easier than trying to remember later.

does anyone know if we get paid for martin luther king day? or is that considered a holiday where we dont get paid?
0 coins
Haley Stokes
•MLK Day is a federal holiday but it doesn't affect unemployment payments. You still get paid for that week as long as you file your weekly claim.

Leslie Parker
•ok good, was worried about that. thanks!

For anyone still having issues getting through to Washington ESD about payments or other problems, seriously check out claimyr.com. The service basically calls for you and gets you connected to an actual person. Way better than sitting on hold for hours or getting hung up on. The video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ shows exactly how it works.

Tuesday 6 AM is my experience too. BECU credit union processes them right on schedule. Never had an issue with timing.

Jackie Martinez
•Good to hear another confirmation of the Tuesday morning timing! Makes me feel more confident about expecting it then.

Juan Moreno
•Yeah you should be all set. Just don't panic if it's not there at exactly 6 AM - sometimes it takes until 8.

Make sure your direct deposit info is still correct in your Washington ESD account. I had a friend whose payments got delayed because their bank account info was wrong after they switched banks.

Jackie Martinez
•Good point! I haven't changed banks recently but I should double check that the routing number is still correct.
0 coins
Amy Fleming
•Yeah it's worth verifying, especially if you've been with the same bank for a while. Sometimes routing numbers change.
