Fired after 7 years, $5 in bank, 2 kids - Stuck in ESD adjudication limbo. HELP!
I'm in a really tough spot right now. Just got fired from my job of 7+ years without any warning. I've got two kids to support and only $5 left in my bank account. Been trying to find a new job for weeks with no luck. Now I'm dealing with this adjudication process for unemployment and I'm completely lost. Anyone been through this before? Any advice on how to speed things up or what I should expect? I'm desperate for some help here!

Man, that's rough. I've been there before and it sucks. Have you tried calling the unemployment office? They might be able to give you more info on your specific case.

•Yeah, I've been trying to get through for days but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre one of the first callers of the day.

Ugh, the adjudication process is the WORST. I waited 3 months before I finally got my benefits. Hang in there!

•3 months?! Oh god, I don't know if I can wait that long. Did you do anything to speed it up?

•Honestly, not really. I just kept calling and eventually got through to someone who could help. It's a waiting game, unfortunately.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Was on the phone with an agent in like 2 hours. Worth every penny imo

Here's what you need to know about the adjudication process: • It's basically a review of your case to determine if you're eligible for benefits • Common reasons for adjudication: quitting, being fired, refusing work, etc. • The process can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks (sometimes longer) • You'll likely need to provide additional documentation • Keep filing your weekly claims during this time! • If approved, you'll get backpay for the weeks you claimed Best thing you can do is gather all your employment docs (pay stubs, termination letter if you have one, etc.) and be ready to explain your situation clearly. Good luck!

•Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your job search activities. They might ask for that too.

have you looked into any emergency assistance programs in your area? Food banks, rental assistance, etc. Might help tide you over while you wait for unemployment to come through.

The system is so broken. How are people supposed to survive while waiting months for benefits? It's ridiculous! 😡
