ESD pending for weeks due to mysterious 'Commissioner Approved Training' - Help!
I've been waiting for weeks to get my unemployment check and I'm getting frustrated. I've been doing my weekly claims but nothing's happening. The status just says 'pending'. When I talked to the workforce office, they mentioned something about waiting on 'commissioner approved training'? I don't even remember signing up for any training. Has anyone else dealt with this? What's going on and how can I fix it?

Ugh, the ESD system is such a mess. I've been dealing with similar issues for months now. It's like they're purposely making it confusing to deny us benefits. 🤬

•Tell me about it! I swear they change the rules every other day just to keep us on our toes. 🙄

•@profile 3 Overloaded or not, it's their job to make sure people get paid. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops for basic support.

Commissioner Approved Training (CAT) is a program that lets you keep getting benefits while you're in a training program. But you usually have to apply for it. Sounds like there might be a mix-up in your account. You need to talk to an ESD agent ASAP to clear this up.

•Thanks for the info! Any idea how I can actually get through to an agent? I've been trying for days.

•It's tough, but keep trying early in the morning. Also, check if they have any online chat options. Sometimes that's faster than phone.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did you have to wait once the call connected?

•@profile 8 It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. The service called me when an agent picked up.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down all your attempts to contact ESD, including dates and times. 2. Contact your state representative. They often have liaisons who can help push your case through. 3. Check your ESD account online for any messages or requests for additional information. 4. If you can get through to an agent, ask them to review your entire claim history. There might be a flag on your account causing the delay. 5. Request a formal determination letter. This will give you something concrete to appeal if necessary. 6. Look into whether you qualify for hardship assistance while waiting for your claim to process. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off.

•This is great advice. I'd add: join local unemployment support groups on Facebook. They often have insider tips and can provide moral support.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a typo in my social security number on one of the forms. Took forever to fix. Double-check all your info!

Anyone else feel like they need a law degree just to understand the unemployment system? 🤔 I swear, half the battle is just learning the lingo.
