ESD document drop-off locations in Tacoma? Not good with uploading files
I'm having trouble with my ESD claim because they sent me an alert saying they need additional documents to verify my identity and work history. The problem is I'm terrible with technology and don't trust myself to scan and upload things correctly through their website. I don't want my claim to be denied just because I messed up the uploading process. Is there a physical office in Tacoma where I can just hand-deliver the documents they're asking for? I'd feel so much better knowing a real person received my paperwork. Does anyone know if this is possible and where the office would be? Thanks in advance for any help!

Most ESD offices closed to the public since covid and never reopened for walk-ins. I think ur supposed to mail them to the address on the letter or upload them. Maybe try getting someone to help u with the upload?

•Thanks for replying. I was afraid of that. The letter just says to upload to my eServices account and doesn't list a mailing address. My grandson usually helps with computer stuff but he's away at college now.

You can actually go to a WorkSource center in Tacoma for help with this. The WorkSource Pierce County office is located at 2121 S State St, Tacoma, WA 98405. They're open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The staff there can help you scan and upload your documents correctly. Just bring a photo ID and all the papers ESD requested. I had to do this last year and they were really helpful!

•Oh thank you so much! That's exactly what I needed to know. I'll head over there tomorrow morning. It's such a relief to know I can get in-person help.

ESD is THE WORST with their upload system!!! I tried to upload my docs like 4 times and the system kept saying "error" with no explanation. Then they disqualified me for "failure to provide information" when I DID TRY TO SUBMIT IT!!! Had to file an appeal and everything. So frustrating!!

•I had the same thing happen! The ESD website is so glitchy. What worked for me was breaking up my documents into multiple smaller files instead of one big file. Also make sure each file is under 3MB and saved as a PDF. Their system hates large files and certain file formats.

If you're struggling with the upload process, you also have the option to mail your documents. The current mailing address for ESD verification documents is: Employment Security Department PO Box 19019 Olympia, WA 98507-0019 Just make sure to include your claim ID number on every page and keep copies of everything you send. Also, if your documents were requested as part of an adjudication or fact-finding, there's usually a deadline, so don't delay too long. The WorkSource option that was mentioned is definitely your best bet for in-person help in Tacoma. They can assist with both scanning and uploading.

•My frend send her stuff by mail and it got lost!!!!! ESD said they never recieved it and denied her claim so BE CAREFUL if u mail anything. I would take pictures with ur phone of everything before u send it just incase.

When I had trouble getting through to ESD about my identity documents, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual ESD agent on the phone. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 I was able to ask exactly what documents they needed and the agent told me I could also fax them in addition to uploading. Might be worth trying to get specific instructions for your situation.

•I've never heard of that service before. I'll check out the video. Talking to a real person would definitely help clear things up. Thanks for the suggestion!

my cusin works at the unemployment office and she says lots of people have truble with the website so dont feel bad!! but she says the fax number is (800) 301-1796 if u want to fax ur stuff instead of uploading it. the library can help with faxing if u dont have a fax machine

•That fax number looks correct, but just to clarify for everyone - that's for regular unemployment documents. If you're dealing with an overpayment issue or appeal, there are different fax numbers for those departments. Always double-check the letter they sent you for the correct fax number for your specific situation.

I understand your technology concerns! If you do end up trying to upload, here's a step-by-step guide: 1. Log into your eServices account 2. Click on "Upload a Document" under the Quick Links section 3. Select document type from the dropdown menu 4. Click "Browse" to find the file on your computer 5. Click "Upload" A helpful tip: The Tacoma Public Library offers free scanning services if you need to convert paper documents to digital files. They can help walk you through the process too. But the WorkSource center others mentioned is probably your best option for in-person assistance with the whole process.

•Thank you for the detailed steps. If the WorkSource center is too busy tomorrow, I might try the library option. I didn't know they could help with scanning too. That's really good to know!
