Need help - where to upload ID verification documents for ESD claim?
I've been stuck on this ID verification step for my ESD claim since Monday. They're asking for proof of identity but there's no clear instructions on WHERE to upload my documents! I checked every tab on eServices but don't see an upload option. Is there an email address or fax number I should be using instead? Getting really worried because my claim won't process until they verify my ID and I've already waited 2 weeks. I tried calling but got disconnected after waiting for 2+ hours (TWICE!). Please help if anyone knows the correct way to submit these documents!

Thank you!! I'll try looking in SAW right now. I was only checking eServices. Can't believe they make this so complicated!

I had the same issue and finally figured it out. Log into your SAW account, then go to your ESD profile. In the left-side menu, you'll find 'Document Upload' under the 'More Services' section. Make sure your documents are clear PDFs or JPGs under 5MB each. They require two forms of ID typically (driver's license + SSN card or birth certificate works). After uploading, it can take 5-7 business days for them to verify in the current processing backlog - but at least you'll see a confirmation that they received them.

This is extremely helpful, thank you! I was looking in completely the wrong place. Just to confirm - I upload directly through SAW and not through eServices, right? I have my driver's license and SS card ready to go.

Yes, upload through SAW, not eServices. Once you've uploaded your documents, I recommend checking your dashboard daily. You likely won't receive any email confirmation, so you'll need to keep checking yourself to see when the verification is complete.

I don't think there even IS an upload section!!! I've been trying for TWO WEEKS and can't find anywhere to upload my documents!! This system is COMPLETELY BROKEN. I've called 40+ times and never get through. I'm about to lose my apartment because these incompetent bureaucrats can't even create a working website. They probably WANT us to fail so they don't have to pay benefits.

I understand your frustration, but the upload section does exist. The UI is just poorly designed. If you're struggling to find it, try a different browser - sometimes the SAW website has issues with certain browsers or extensions. Also, make sure you're fully logged into your SAW account first, not just eServices.

If you still can't find the upload option, you can try emailing your documents to UI_Secure_Docs@esd.wa.gov, but this takes longer to process and isn't the preferred method. Always include your claim ID in the subject line! I had to do this last year when the upload system was down for maintenance.

I found the upload section! But thank you for providing the email option as a backup. I'll keep that in my notes in case I run into any other issues with the system.

If you need to speak with an actual ESD agent about this (which I highly recommend because the ID verification can be tricky), I successfully got through using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They basically hold your place in line and call you back when they reach an agent. Saved me days of frustration after trying to call on my own for a week. They have a demo video of how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. I was skeptical at first but it actually worked and the agent walked me through exactly where to upload my documents.

Thanks for the tip! I managed to find the upload section finally, but I'm saving this info in case I need to talk to someone about why it's taking so long to verify. Their processing times seem super unpredictable.

When I had to verify my identity last month, I found that the system works better on a desktop computer rather than mobile. Also, after you submit documents, there's a specific place you need to check to see if they need additional information - it's not obvious and they don't always email you. It's under the

Omg yes I missed an important notice bc I was only checking my email! They put it in notices but never told me to look there. Delayed my claim by another week! ðŸ˜

UPDATE: I finally found the document upload section! For anyone else having this problem, you need to:\n1. Log into SecureAccess Washington (SAW)\n2. Click on your ESD services\n3. Look for 'More Services' in the left sidebar\n4. 'Document Upload' is listed there\n\nI've successfully uploaded my driver's license and social security card. Now waiting for verification. Thanks everyone for your help! Will update when my verification goes through.

Great! Make sure to keep checking your claim status daily. Sometimes the system updates without sending notifications. Hope your verification goes through quickly!
