ESD calling after Governor's expedite request - what info will they need?
So I contacted the Governor's office about my unemployment claim yesterday (been stuck for WEEKS) and they actually got back to me this morning saying they sent a message to ESD to expedite my cases! They said someone from unemployment would call me TODAY. I'm freaking out a little because I didn't expect things to move this fast! Does anyone know what kind of questions they'll ask when they call? I thought they'd just work on the adjudication behind the scenes and update my eServices account. Is a callback normal after contacting the Governor? They said to expect the call by end of business today and my anxiety is through the roof wondering what to prepare for! 😩 This is my first time dealing with unemployment so I'm totally lost on what info I should have ready when they call. Tax forms? Pay stubs? Former employer details? Help!

Once they confirmed I was the right person, they basically just explained what was happening with my claim and what would happen next. Just a heads up - they might ask security questions like your address or birth date to verify identity. My call lasted maybe 15 minutes? they probly wont even call u tbh... i contacted govs office TWICE and they said same thing both times but nobody ever called me back!!! the whole system is joke!!!! they just tell u what u want to hear but nothing happens. i waited by phone all day both times and NOTHING! ended up having to try for 3 WEEKS to get through to someone at ESD myself!!!

•The Governor's office expedite process has been much more reliable since they updated their system in March 2025. They now track which claims were referred for expedited handling and follow up if ESD doesn't make contact within the specified timeframe. It's working better now than earlier in the year.

Try using Claimyr if they don't call you back today. I was in the same boat - got the Governor's office involved but still no call after 2 days. Used this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual ESD agent in like 20 minutes instead of waiting on hold for hours. omg dont freak out!! its good theyre calling u!! when i got a call after governors office helped me they just wanted to check if i was actually me (birthday, address) and then asked about my last job and why i left. make sure u answer ANY call today, even unknown numbers!!! they fixed my claim right after the call and i got $$$ the next week!
