Keep in mind the $999 max is for people who were making like $70K+ annually. Most people get way less than that. But even getting $400-500/week is better than the $250-300 you'd get in many other states.
has anyone dealt with the standby status stuff? my employer said they might call me back in a few months but i'm not sure if i should file for regular unemployment or wait
Thanks everyone for all the info! This thread has been super helpful for understanding the payment timing. Sounds like Wednesday morning is the magic time for most people.
Also check if your county has any emergency cash assistance programs. King County has some, not sure about other counties but worth looking into for short-term help.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for all the advice. I called 211 and they gave me a whole list of resources I didn't know existed. Also used that Claimyr service someone mentioned to talk to Washington ESD about my options - turns out I might qualify for some job training assistance through WorkSource. Feeling a bit more hopeful now.
Glad Claimyr worked out for you. It really does make a difference being able to talk to a real person at ESD.
Wednesday payments are the norm but watch out for system maintenance. Sometimes Washington ESD does updates that can delay things by a day or two.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I'll check my account tomorrow morning and hopefully see the deposit. This community is way more helpful than trying to navigate Washington ESD's website alone.
Hope it works out! And remember that Claimyr option if you ever need to actually speak with someone at Washington ESD.

Just remember that even if your benefit amount seems off, you should keep filing your weekly claims while you investigate. Don't want to miss any payments while you're figuring out the calculation.

•Good point. I'll definitely keep filing my weekly claims regardless. Don't want to lose benefits over a calculation question.

•Exactly. You can always appeal or request adjustments later, but you can't go back and file missed weekly claims.

For what it's worth, your $487/week benefit on a $45k salary puts you at about 54% income replacement, which is pretty typical for Washington ESD. That suggests your calculation is probably correct.

•That's reassuring to hear. I was worried it might be too low, but if 54% is normal then it sounds about right.

•Washington typically replaces between 47-63% of wages depending on your income level, so you're right in the expected range.
