If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One thing to keep in mind - if you're filing a new claim, make sure all your wages from the base year are showing up correctly. I had an employer that didn't report wages properly and it took forever to get it fixed. Had to provide pay stubs and tax documents.

Eventually got through by phone but it took multiple attempts over several weeks. This was before I knew about services that help you reach agents faster.

0 coins

Yeah, that's exactly why I ended up using Claimyr when I had wage discrepancies. Saved me probably hours of redialing and getting disconnected. Their demo video really shows how much easier it makes the whole process.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for explaining this! I was worried the wage base would somehow reduce my benefits but sounds like it's just a tax thing for employers. Will focus on making sure my actual wages are reported correctly instead.

0 coins

That's the right approach. The wage base is really background information - what matters for your claim is accurate wage reporting and meeting the other eligibility requirements.

Agreed, this thread cleared up a lot of confusion for me. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to explain.

Just went through this whole process myself. The wage calculator on their website is pretty accurate. Put in your quarterly earnings and it'll tell you if you qualify and estimate your weekly benefit amount.

0 coins

Perfect, I'll check that out. Thanks for all the help everyone!

0 coins

No problem! The whole system seems overwhelming at first but once you get started it's not too bad.

One more thing - keep good records of everything. All your pay stubs, any communication with your employer about the hour reduction, etc. You might need it if they have questions about your claim.

0 coins

Good reminder. I have most of my recent pay stubs but I should probably gather everything together before I apply.

0 coins

Yeah definitely. I had to provide employment verification for my last few jobs when I applied. Having everything organized made it much easier.

The most important thing is to be completely honest on your application and weekly claims. Washington ESD takes fraud seriously, but as long as you're truthful about everything, you shouldn't have any problems as an IHSS worker.

0 coins

Definitely planning to be completely honest. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Just wanted to follow up one more time about Claimyr - if you do run into any issues where you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD about your IHSS work situation, that service really does make a huge difference. The phone system is impossible otherwise.

0 coins

I might need to try that if my claim gets complicated. Thanks for mentioning it multiple times - must really work!

0 coins

It does! I was skeptical at first but after spending hours on hold getting nowhere, it was worth every penny to actually speak with a Washington ESD agent.

0 coins

Bottom line is you should file the claim if you believe you had good cause. Washington ESD will investigate and make a determination based on the facts. Just be honest and provide as much supporting evidence as possible.

0 coins

Good luck! Remember to keep filing those weekly claims and continue your job search. You've got this!

Hope it works out for you! Let us know how it goes if you feel comfortable updating us.

I've been following this discussion and wanted to add that if anyone needs help reaching Washington ESD directly, I also had success with Claimyr recently. Sometimes talking to a real person makes all the difference in getting your situation understood properly.

0 coins

That seems to be a recurring theme - actually being able to talk to someone helps a lot. I'll keep that in mind if I run into issues.

PaulineW

Exactly. The automated systems and online forms can only do so much. Sometimes you need human judgment to evaluate complex situations like hostile work environments.

The non-compete thing is interesting. I wonder if Washington ESD would consider that as limiting your ability to search for work in your field. Might be worth asking about during your initial claim interview.

0 coins

That's a good question. I should probably bring that up when I file, especially since the non-compete covers most of my industry experience.

0 coins

I think as long as you're making good faith efforts to search for work, even with limitations, you should be okay. Just document everything.

One last tip - if you do end up needing to appeal anything related to your separation agreement and unemployment eligibility, don't wait. The appeal deadlines are pretty strict with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Hopefully it won't come to that, but good to know. How long do you usually have to appeal?

0 coins

Usually 30 days from the date of the determination letter. Don't miss that deadline if you need to appeal.
