If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Thanks everyone for clarifying this. I was also confused and this thread answered my questions too.

Glad I'm not the only one who was confused about this!

Bottom line: Washington state eliminated the waiting week permanently. File your weekly claims and you should get paid for your first eligible week. If you need to talk to Washington ESD and can't get through, there are services like Claimyr that can help.

Perfect. This thread has been incredibly helpful. Thank you all!

Happy to help. Good luck with your claim!

One thing nobody mentioned - if you have a pension or retirement income, that can reduce your weekly benefit amount. Not sure if that applies to you but worth knowing.

0 coins

I'm only 28 so no pension issues for me, but that's good info for others reading this.

Final tip - if you end up needing to talk to Washington ESD about your benefit calculation or any other issues, seriously consider using claimyr.com. Saved me hours of frustration trying to get through their phone system. The peace of mind was worth it.

0 coins

I'll keep that in mind if I run into problems. Hopefully my claim goes smoothly but it's good to have options.

Wish I had known about that service when I was dealing with my benefit issues last year!

Quick update - I actually just got off the phone with Washington ESD (used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it worked great). The rep confirmed that I should file a claim and they'll investigate the work classification. She said to be thorough in describing how my work was structured and provide as much documentation as possible.

0 coins

That's exactly what I needed to hear! I'm going to file my claim this week and see what happens. Thanks for the update.

Glad you were able to get through to someone. It's so much better to get official confirmation rather than just guessing based on online forums.

One last tip - when you're filling out your claim, there should be a section where you can explain your work situation in detail. Use that space to describe how your client controlled your work, provided equipment, set schedules, etc. Don't just rely on the basic form fields.

0 coins

Perfect advice. I'll make sure to use that section to really explain the specifics of how my work arrangement was structured.

0 coins

Yes, that narrative section is really important. I've heard from other people that's where you can make your case for why you should qualify.

For anyone still dealing with this - don't wait too long to address it. There might be time limits on requesting retroactive payments, even for waiting week issues.

0 coins

That's a good point. I better get on this soon.

0 coins

I think you have up to a year to request back payments, but don't quote me on that.

0 coins

This thread convinced me to check my own payment history. Sure enough, I'm missing my first week too! Guess I'll be trying that Claimyr service as well.

0 coins

Same here! I never even realized I was missing that first week payment.

0 coins

Glad this helped other people figure it out too. Hopefully we can all get this resolved soon.

My biggest advice is to file your claim as soon as possible after you lose your job. Don't wait thinking you might get called back or that you'll find something quickly. Benefits are retroactive to when you first became unemployed, but only if you file promptly.

0 coins

How soon is 'as soon as possible'? I was laid off last Friday.

0 coins

You should file within the first week after becoming unemployed. Since you were laid off Friday, I'd file today or tomorrow. The sooner you file, the sooner your claim can be processed.

Last thing - keep all your paperwork and documentation organized. Save emails from your employer about the layoff, keep copies of your application and any correspondence with ESD, and maintain your job search log. If any issues come up, having good documentation will make resolving them much easier.

Good luck! Remember, you've earned these benefits by working and paying into the system. Don't feel bad about using them when you need them.

And if you run into any issues getting through to ESD by phone, definitely consider using Claimyr. It saved me so much frustration when I needed to resolve problems with my claim.
