I experienced the exact same issue in February. After trying for days to get through, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an ESD agent in about 15 minutes. The agent explained that my account had a technical flag that was limiting my phone options, but they fixed it immediately. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Definitely worth it when you're stuck with no other options.
UPDATE: I finally got through! For anyone with the same problem - I called the 800-318-6022 number super early (7:58am) and just stayed silent through ALL the prompts. After about 2 minutes of various messages, it finally gave me the option to file my weekly claim. Thanks everyone for your help!
Great to hear! Yes, calling right before they open at 8:00am is usually the best strategy. Also, for future reference, if you're having internet issues at home but have a smartphone, the eServices mobile site actually works quite well for filing weekly claims and uses very little data. It's more reliable than the phone system these days.
Glad you got through! One additional piece of advice - now that you've had contact, document everything: 1. Write down the date and time you spoke with the agent 2. Get their first name and ID number if possible 3. Note the specific promises made ("flagging your case") 4. Set a calendar reminder for 7 business days from now If you don't see movement by then, you can reference this specific interaction in any follow-up communications. This creates a paper trail that can be important if you need to escalate further. Also, continue filing your weekly claims during this adjudication period, even if they show as "pending" or "disqualified" - once adjudication completes in your favor, those weeks will be paid retroactively.
One more thing I should mention - ESD sometimes has different levels of verification. The basic ID verification and then a more thorough verification if they have specific concerns about your claim. If you're in the second category, it typically takes longer. Did you receive any specific notices about why they needed verification again after you'd already done it before?
UPDATE: I took several of the suggestions here and finally got movement on my claim! I contacted my state representative yesterday morning, and by this afternoon I got an email from ESD saying my identity verification was complete. All my pending weekly claims now show as processing for payment! Thanks everyone for the advice - especially about contacting my representative, that really seemed to make the difference.

uhhh this reminds me of when my roommate went through the same thing last yr... he kept calling and calling and it turned out they needed like one more piece of paper or something? but nobody bothered to tell him until he finally got someone on the phone. try the Claimyr thing others mentioned, my roommate didnt know about that and spent like 3 weeks just calling and getting hung up on

•Seems like a lot of people have had success with that service. I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks for sharing your roommate's experience!

Just as an update based on other comments - I've seen a significant increase in identity verification holds in 2025. ESD implemented a new verification system in January, and many legitimate claims are getting caught in it. The frustrating part is that the system often doesn't notify claimants about the hold. Hopefully that's all it is in your case - relatively easy to fix once you reach someone.

•I just tried the Claimyr service that others recommended and got through to ESD! You were right - there was an identity verification hold on my account that never showed up in my portal. The agent helped me upload my documents right over the phone and said my claim should start processing within 3-5 business days. Thank you everyone for your help!
