One more thing about the maximum - make sure your employer reported your wages correctly to Washington ESD. I had an issue where one of my previous employers under-reported my wages and it affected my benefit calculation. Had to get that corrected before I could get the full amount I was eligible for.
You can log into your eServices account on the Washington ESD website and view your wage history. Compare it to your paystubs to make sure everything matches.
Thanks everyone for all the info! This thread has been super helpful. Sounds like $999 is the max but most people won't qualify for that amount unless they were making really good money. At least now I know what to expect when I file my claim.
You're welcome! Just remember to file as soon as you become unemployed - there's no waiting period to file and you can't get benefits for weeks before you file your initial claim.
Just wanted to mention that if you're denied initially, don't give up. The appeals process exists for a reason and sometimes the initial determination is wrong. I know someone who won on appeal after being denied for insufficient wages.
Good to know there are options if something goes wrong. Hopefully I won't need to appeal!
Appeals can take a while but they're worth it if you believe you actually qualify. Just make sure you file within the deadline.
One last thing - make sure you file as soon as possible after becoming unemployed. There's no waiting period for eligibility but you can't backdate claims very far, so don't delay if you think you qualify.
And remember, if you need to talk to Washington ESD directly about anything, Claimyr is there if the regular phone lines are too busy.
have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school but I got a response within 2 days when I faxed my documents
What year is it, 1995? 🤣 But for real, if it works, it works!
Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before and I know how to wrangle these bureaucratic bulls. Here's what you need to do: • Gather ALL your employment documents. We're talking pay stubs, W-2s, offer letters, performance reviews, everything. • Write a detailed letter explaining your employment history. Include dates, job titles, and responsibilities. • Get a notarized statement from your former employer if possible. • File an appeal ASAP. There's usually a deadline, so don't drag your feet. • Keep calling and emailing. Be polite but persistent. Document every interaction. • Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes cut through red tape. • If all else fails, look into legal aid services. Some offer free help with unemployment issues. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!
This is gold 💯 Saving this for future reference!
guys im in the same boat rn and im freaking out. i cant afford to not get my benefits. any advice on how to stay calm while dealing with this mess?
Deep breaths, my friend. Remember, this is just a temporary setback. Try to do something nice for yourself each day while you work through this. You got this! 💪

been through this runaround before... if your claims are pending without any clear reason shown in your account, there's probably an adjudication issue that needs manual review. the economic theory stuff is just fluff

•How can I find out if there's an adjudication issue if it's not showing in my SAW account?

•you need to actually talk to someone who can look at the backend of your claim... which brings us back to the calling problem you started with

Update on the Claimyr thing - I ended up trying it after reading these comments and it actually worked. Got connected to a Washington ESD rep who explained that my claim had been flagged for identity verification (which wasn't showing anywhere in my online account). Finally making progress after weeks of confusion.

•That's great to hear! I think I'm going to give it a try too since regular calling hasn't been working.

•Worth it just to get actual answers instead of vague explanations about economic theory. Good luck!
