If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more tip - when you file your weekly claim, make sure you report any work you did that week, even if it was just a few hours. They have ways of finding out and you don't want to get hit with an overpayment situation.

Yeah, overpayment notices are no joke. I got one last year and had to pay back $1,200 because I didn't report some freelance work properly.

The key is to report everything accurately. Washington ESD would rather you report too much information than too little.

This thread has been super helpful! I'm in a similar situation and was completely lost about how unemployment benefits work. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and knowledge.

Glad it helped! I feel much more confident about filing my claim now too.

Same here. The Washington ESD website makes it seem so complicated but this explanation makes it much clearer.

One more thing - keep all your documentation! Save emails from Washington ESD, keep your job search log updated, and screenshot important pages in your account. You never know when you might need proof of something.

Great advice! I'll start a folder on my computer for all this stuff.

Smart move. Organization really helps if any issues come up later.

The process isn't as scary as it seems once you get started. Just take it one step at a time and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Thanks everyone! This has been incredibly helpful. Going to file my claim this afternoon.

perfect timing on this thread - i literally just finished my taxes and was second-guessing how i reported my UI benefits. sounds like i did it right by putting them in the unearned income section instead of with my wages

0 coins

Yep, sounds like you did it correctly! UI benefits go on line 7 of Form 1040, not with wages and salaries.

perfect, thanks for confirming that!

this whole discussion has been really educational. i never realized there were so many different ways income gets classified and why it matters. definitely going to be more careful about how i fill out forms going forward

That's great to hear. Understanding these basics can save you a lot of headaches with taxes and benefit applications.

Bottom line: you can apply for unemployment benefits in Washington whenever you become unemployed and meet the eligibility requirements. There's no waiting period between claims and no lifetime limit. Just make sure you have qualifying wages in your base period.

Perfect summary! Thanks everyone for all the helpful information. I feel much more confident about filing my claim now.

Just to summarize for anyone else who finds this thread: UI benefits = unearned income for forms, but still taxable income for your tax return. Keep your 1099-G safe and report everything correctly!
