If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

That's a really good suggestion. My sister went through this a few years ago so maybe I'll ask her to help.

Just make sure she's familiar with current rules - they've changed some things since the pandemic.

Don't panic if the application seems long or confusing. Take your time and read each question carefully. It's better to spend an extra 10 minutes being thorough than to have to fix mistakes later.

You've got this! Just remember to file your weekly claims on time once you're approved.

0 coins

And don't hesitate to use resources like Claimyr if you get stuck and need to reach someone at Washington ESD. Good luck!

One more tip - if you do apply and get denied, don't panic. You can appeal the decision and sometimes they made an error in calculating your base period wages. I've seen people get approved on appeal after being initially denied.

0 coins

How long do you have to appeal a denial?

0 coins

30 days from the date of the determination letter. Don't wait because after that it's much harder to challenge.

The Claimyr thing mentioned earlier actually helped me with an appeal too. The Washington ESD agent they connected me with was able to explain exactly why I was denied and what documentation I needed to provide. Much better than trying to figure it out from the confusing letters they send.

0 coins

Good to know it works for more than just basic questions. The appeal process seems really complicated.

0 coins

Yeah having someone who actually understands the system walk you through it makes a huge difference. Way better than guessing what they want.

One more thing - check your email and your physical mailbox. Sometimes Washington ESD sends important notices by regular mail that can delay your claim if you don't respond quickly.

0 coins

Good point, I'll keep checking both. Haven't gotten anything yet but I'll watch for it.

For what it's worth, I filed mine on a Monday and was approved by Friday of the same week. But that was during a slow period, not sure how busy they are right now.

0 coins

That gives me hope! Fingers crossed mine moves that quickly.

Mine was approved in 3 days last year. Simple layoff, all paperwork in order.

Make sure your direct deposit info is correct in your account! I had a friend who had to wait an extra week because her bank routing number was wrong and the payment bounced back to Washington ESD.

0 coins

Oh wow, I should double check that. How do I verify the banking info in my account?

0 coins

Log into your SecureAccess Washington account and look for the payment preferences or direct deposit section. You can update it there if needed.

Bottom line - if your claim is straightforward (regular layoff, clear employment history, no disputes), expect 2-3 weeks. If there are complications, could be 4-8 weeks or more. The key is staying on top of your weekly claims and requirements.

This whole thread has been super helpful. I feel much more prepared for what to expect now. Thanks everyone!

Good luck with your claim! Most people get through the process just fine, you've got this.

0 coins

Just remember that even after approval, your first payment might be less than expected because of the waiting week. Washington has a one-week waiting period that doesn't get paid unless you stay on benefits for a certain amount of time.

0 coins

Yes, the first week of your claim is an unpaid waiting week. You can potentially get it paid later if you remain eligible for several weeks, but initially it's unpaid.

0 coins

Good to know so I can budget accordingly. Thanks for the heads up.

0 coins

Hang in there - the waiting is definitely the hardest part but once everything gets rolling it becomes pretty routine. File your weeklies on time and you should be good to go.

Appreciate the encouragement. This whole situation is stressful but all these responses have been really helpful.

That's what these forums are for! We've all been there and understand the stress. It does get easier once you're in the system.
