Just filed my first weekly claim yesterday and it was pretty straightforward online. The hardest part was keeping track of all my job search activities for the week.
Bottom line - expect somewhere between $2400-4000 per month depending on your previous earnings, and be prepared for it to take some time to get your first payment. The system works but it's slow and bureaucratic.
Final thought - when you do talk to Washington ESD (whether through Claimyr or however you manage to get through), ask specifically about the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs. They have funding for training and support services that could help bridge the gap while you're looking for work.
If anyone else is dealing with Washington ESD appeal issues, that Claimyr thing really does work. Used it myself when I couldn't get through to ask about my hearing date. Much better than sitting on hold for hours.
Good luck with your claim! The process seems complicated but thousands of people do it successfully every week. Take it one step at a time and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Glad we could help! And seriously, if you hit any roadblocks trying to reach Washington ESD, remember that Claimyr option. Sometimes having a direct conversation with an agent is the fastest way to resolve issues that come up.

Just remember you're still technically unemployed even if you're doing gig work. You have to remain able and available for full-time employment. If Washington ESD thinks you're too busy with DoorDash to take a regular job, that could be an issue.

•How would they even know how much time you're spending on it though?

•They can see your reported hours and earnings. If you're consistently working 40+ hours a week doing deliveries, that might raise red flags.

Bottom line: yes you can do DoorDash while on unemployment but you MUST report all earnings and hours worked. Don't try to hide it or you'll end up with overpayment issues that are way worse than just having your benefits reduced.
