Ask the community...
One thing to keep in mind is that your former employer can contest your claim. They might argue that you didn't have good cause or that you could have resolved the issue another way.
File your claim as soon as possible. There's a waiting period anyway, and the longer you wait, the more money you lose even if you're eventually approved.
For future reference, Washington ESD has a payment schedule page that shows when payments are typically processed each week. Might help with planning.
Try contacting your state representatives office too. They sometimes know about programs or resources that aren't widely advertised.
Sorry you're going through this. The system is complicated and unfair in many ways. Focus on finding work and accessing whatever community resources are available.
Make sure you understand the difference between gross and net earnings when they calculate your benefits. They use gross wages but the actual benefit amount will be less than your full pay.
The whole process is definitely intimidating at first, but millions of people go through it every year. Your work history sounds like it should qualify you without any issues if you do end up needing benefits.

•Thanks, it helps to know I'm not the only one facing this cliff.

just want to echo what others said about Extended Benefits. they're tied to unemployment rates and economic conditions, not individual need. it's frustrating but that's how the system works

•I understand the policy reasoning but it doesn't make the reality any easier to deal with.
