If anyone needs to actually talk to Washington ESD about their claim status, I can't recommend Claimyr enough. Saved me so much time and frustration trying to get through on my own.
Final advice: be patient with the progress status, keep filing weekly claims, maintain your job search activities, and don't hesitate to reach out for help if it takes longer than expected. The system works, it just takes time.
One more thing - if you do get denied and need to appeal, don't wait. You only have a limited time to file an appeal, so act quickly if you disagree with their decision.
I tried using that Claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in like 10 minutes instead of calling for days. Definitely recommend it if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about your claim.
If you're really worried, you could try using that phone service to get through to an agent and just ask for a status update. Sometimes just knowing where things stand can reduce the anxiety even if it doesn't speed things up.
Yeah that Claimyr thing sounds like it might be worth it just for peace of mind. Better than sitting here wondering what's happening.
hang in there! i know the waiting is stressful but two weeks is totally normal. once you get that first payment youll feel so much better
Bottom line - your employer has a financial incentive to contest claims they think are invalid, but legitimate layoffs are usually not worth fighting. Keep your documentation and don't worry too much if you were truly laid off due to business reasons.
One more thing - even if your employer contests, you can still receive benefits while the issue is being resolved if Washington ESD's initial determination is in your favor. Just be aware you might have to pay back benefits if the decision gets reversed later.

If you're filing soon, make sure you have all your employment info ready - dates, wages, reason for separation, etc. The more accurate info you provide upfront, the less likely your claim will get delayed.

•Thanks! I'll gather all my pay stubs and employment records before I start the application.

The hardest part for me was the waiting. Even when everything goes smoothly, it takes a few weeks to get your first payment. Make sure you have some savings to cover expenses during that initial period.

•Yeah I'm hoping to file before I actually run out of money so I have a buffer. This thread has been super helpful, thanks everyone!
