If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One last piece of advice - if you do apply and get approved, make sure you understand the weekly claim requirements. You'll need to file every week and report any work or earnings. Missing a week can cause delays in your benefits.

0 coins

You can file your weekly claim starting Sunday for the previous week, and you have until the following Saturday to file it. Most people file on Sunday to stay on schedule.

And don't forget about the job search requirements. You'll need to keep a log of your job search activities.

This has been a really helpful thread. I was in a similar situation and wasn't sure about applying. Now I feel confident enough to give it a try. Thanks everyone!

Same here! This community is so helpful. Good luck with your application!

Love seeing people help each other out with this confusing system. We're all in this together.

One more thing - if you're married and filing jointly, your unemployment benefits are still unearned income even if your spouse has earned income from working. Just in case anyone was wondering about that scenario.

0 coins

That's a good point, the classification doesn't change based on your filing status.

0 coins

Right, it's based on the source of the income, not your tax filing situation.

0 coins

Final summary for anyone scrolling through: Washington ESD unemployment benefits = unearned taxable income. Not earned income. This affects various programs and tax credits but you still need to report it as income where required.

Perfect summary! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion.

This thread should be pinned somewhere, really useful info that lots of people probably don't know.

One more thing - if you're on standby status, does that affect how the base period is calculated? I'm temporarily laid off but expecting to be called back.

0 coins

No, standby status doesn't change the base period calculation. That's just about your work search requirements and callback expectations. The base period is still calculated the same way.

0 coins

Thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't sure if standby was treated differently.

0 coins

I wish I had known about the base period thing before I filed. I would have waited a few more weeks to file so I could include higher wages from a more recent quarter.

0 coins

Unfortunately, delaying your claim filing date doesn't change which quarters are used for the base period. It's based on completed quarters, not when you file.

0 coins

Ah, that makes sense. So timing doesn't really matter then.

One last tip - keep detailed records of all your earnings and hours worked. If Washington ESD ever questions your reported earnings, you'll want to have documentation to back up what you reported.

0 coins

Good advice. I'll start keeping better records of my hours and pay stubs.

0 coins

Exactly. Pay stubs, timesheets, anything that shows when you worked and how much you earned. It's good protection if there are ever any questions.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about how partial benefits work now. Going to make sure I report my earnings correctly going forward.

0 coins

You're welcome! Just remember - when in doubt, report it. It's always better to be overly cautious with Washington ESD.

Agreed, thanks to everyone who helped explain this. This thread was super helpful!

One more thing - if you have any questions about your claim status or run into problems, don't just wait and hope it resolves itself. Contact Washington ESD right away because some issues have time limits for appeals.

Good luck! The first few weeks are the hardest but once you get into the routine it's not too bad.

And remember claimyr.com is there if you need help getting through to Washington ESD later on. Really saved me a lot of headaches.

Washington ESD also has a lot of resources on their website including FAQs and video tutorials. Worth checking out esd.wa.gov before you file to get familiar with the process.

Perfect, I'll definitely look at those videos. Thanks again everyone!
