Been through this whole process myself recently. The key thing to remember is that Washington ESD looks at your GROSS wages, not your take-home pay. So if you were making $5000 gross but only taking home $3800 after taxes and deductions, they use the $5000 figure for calculating your benefit.
For anyone still struggling to understand their specific calculation, you can request a detailed breakdown from Washington ESD. They'll send you a document showing exactly which wages from which quarters they used. Sometimes there are errors or missing wages that need to be corrected.
Thanks again everyone. Filed my new claim this morning and got confirmation. Now just need to tackle the overpayment issue. Will try calling early tomorrow morning first, then consider the Claimyr option if that doesn't work.
This whole thread is exactly why I love this forum. Real people helping each other navigate the Washington ESD maze. Way better than trying to figure this stuff out from their website.
FYI - if you're close to running out and still haven't found work, you might want to look into other assistance programs like SNAP or housing assistance. Washington ESD won't extend your unemployment but there are other safety nets available.
I tried using Claimyr when I needed to check on my remaining benefit weeks and it was actually pretty smooth. Got connected to a Washington ESD rep within about 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. Sometimes paying for convenience is worth it when you're stressed about your claim status.
If you're really struggling financially while waiting, look into local food banks and emergency assistance programs. Most communities have resources to help during the gap period.
Bottom line: 2-3 weeks is normal for straightforward claims, longer if there are complications. Keep filing your weekly claims, do your job searches, and check your account regularly. You should hear something soon!

My seasonal job at a summer camp ended in August and I got unemployment no problem. The key is being honest about everything and having your employment documentation ready. Don't overthink it.

Remember that if you have any issues with your claim getting stuck or need to talk to someone at Washington ESD, don't waste hours calling. That Claimyr thing actually works - saved me so much time and frustration when my seasonal unemployment got complicated.

•I'll keep that in mind if I run into any problems. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but it's good to know there are options if I need help.
