Last piece of advice - set up direct deposit when you file your claim! Getting a debit card in the mail takes longer and can be a hassle if there are any issues with delivery.
Welcome to the club nobody wants to join lol. But seriously, unemployment benefits are there for a reason and you paid into the system through your taxes. Don't feel bad about using them while you look for your next job.
Does anyone know how long you can collect unemployment in Washington? I know it used to be different during COVID but what's the current limit?
Standard unemployment benefits last up to 26 weeks in Washington state. There's also extended benefits that can kick in during high unemployment periods, but that's not available right now.
Just got my determination letter yesterday - $523 per week for up to 26 weeks. The whole process took about 4 weeks from filing to approval. No major issues thankfully.
Got mine yesterday! Filed January 28th and it was direct deposited. $1,832 which was exactly what I calculated. There's hope everyone!
Thanks everyone for all the info and support. Sounds like I just need to be patient for another month or two. At least now I know it's normal to wait this long and the money is actually coming.
Hang in there! And seriously consider that Claimyr service if you need to talk to the IRS - it saved me hours of frustration.
Just remember that even if you get denied initially, that's not the end. You have appeal rights and many denials get overturned on appeal when people provide proper documentation and explain their circumstances clearly.
One more plug for Claimyr - if you do get into adjudication or need to check on an appeal, they're super helpful for actually reaching a human at Washington ESD. I was stuck in adjudication limbo for weeks until I used their service to get through and get answers about what was holding up my claim.

One last thing - if your claim goes into adjudication and you need updates on the status, seriously consider using Claimyr to get through to an agent. Saved me weeks of frustration trying to get information about my case.

•Wish I had known about services like that when I was dealing with my unemployment claim mess last year.

Best of luck OP. You've got good documentation and a legitimate case for good cause. The process may take time but don't get discouraged. Washington ESD does approve quit cases when the circumstances warrant it.
