If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Final thought - if you do end up using Claimyr or any service to reach Washington ESD, make sure you understand what information they need. But yeah, getting through to an actual person can make a huge difference in understanding your claim status.

Will do. Really appreciate everyone's help on this thread!

Hope everything works out OP. Keep us updated on how it goes with your lender and Washington ESD claim!

Thanks! I'll post an update once I get through this mess.

Good luck with everything. The hardship program should give you the breathing room you need.

For what it's worth, I filed my unemployment claim about 6 hours after getting laid off and everything went smoothly. The online system asks you for your last day of work, so they know exactly when your employment ended. No need to overthink the timing.

Perfect! Sounds like there's really no downside to filing right away. Thanks everyone for all the helpful info!

Glad we could help! Good luck with your claim and hope you find something new soon.

Last thing I'll add - when you do file, make sure you understand the weekly claim requirements. You'll need to file every week even during that waiting week, and you'll need to report any work or income. Don't skip weeks thinking you'll start later.

0 coins

Good point! I'll make sure to keep up with the weekly claims even if I'm not getting paid yet.

0 coins

Yeah missing weekly claims can really mess up your benefits. Better to file them all and not need them than to skip and cause problems later.

The Washington ESD website has a benefit calculator tool but honestly it never worked right for me. Always gave me error messages when I tried to use it. Probably easier to just do the math yourself with that 3.85% formula someone mentioned earlier.

0 coins

Yeah their website tools are pretty hit or miss. I've had better luck just calling when I need specific information, though getting through can be a challenge.

That's when services like Claimyr come in handy. I used them twice when I couldn't get through on my own and it was worth it to actually talk to someone instead of guessing.

Don't forget you'll also need to do work search activities to keep getting benefits. I think it's 3 job contacts per week minimum, and you have to keep a log of your activities.

0 coins

Online applications definitely count! You just need to keep track of the employer name, date, position applied for, and method of contact. Pretty straightforward.

Also attending job fairs or networking events can count toward your work search requirements. There are usually several options each week to meet the requirement.

I just want to make sure I understand - the weekly benefit amount stays the same for your entire claim period, right? It doesn't change based on how long you've been collecting?

0 coins

Correct, your weekly benefit amount stays the same throughout your benefit year unless you have a new claim with different wages.

0 coins

Good to know for budgeting purposes. At least that's one thing that's consistent in this whole process.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the info! This has been way more helpful than trying to decipher the Washington ESD website.

Seriously, this thread answered so many questions I had. I feel like I actually understand how it works now.

That's what this community is for - helping each other navigate the unemployment system!

Make sure you also understand the waiting week requirement. Even if you qualify, there's usually a one-week waiting period before benefits start.

0 coins

So I won't get paid for the first week I file?

0 coins

Correct - the first week is unpaid, then benefits start from week two if you're approved and continue filing weekly claims.

0 coins

Pro tip: gather all your employment documentation before you start the application. W2s, pay stubs, anything showing your work history and wages. Makes the process much smoother.

0 coins

Good advice! I already pulled together my pay stubs. Should I scan them or just have them ready?

0 coins

Have them ready but you probably won't need to upload them unless Washington ESD specifically requests documentation during adjudication.
