Just file your claim and be honest about everything. The whole point of partial unemployment is to help people transition back to full-time work without losing their safety net. Washington ESD designed it this way on purpose.
Update us on how your claim goes! Always curious to hear success stories, and it might help other people in similar situations.
One more thing - if you're working part-time in a completely different field than your usual work, make sure you're still applying for jobs in your regular field too. Washington ESD wants to see you're actively seeking work similar to your previous employment, not just taking any part-time gig.
Yes, absolutely. The part-time work is fine but your job search should focus on finding suitable full-time employment in your field.
Thanks everyone for all the detailed responses! This has been super helpful. Sounds like the main points are: report everything honestly, keep good records, continue job searching, and don't be afraid to work part-time while collecting. I feel much more confident about moving forward now.
Just file it! Stop overthinking. I stressed about timing for days and it turns out it doesn't matter as much as I thought. The system is designed to handle normal situations. If there are issues they'll contact you.
Remember to save confirmation numbers and print/screenshot everything important. Washington ESD's system sometimes has glitches and having records of what you submitted and when can save you headaches later if questions come up.
Last thing I'll add - if you need to verify your payment status or have any issues, calling Washington ESD directly is nearly impossible. I tried using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it actually worked great. Got connected to an agent who could see my payment history and explain the timing.
Just to close the loop on the original question - you should definitely see your payment by Thursday at the latest if you filed Sunday. If you don't see it by Friday, then there's probably an issue that needs to be resolved.

Bottom line - if you're a W-2 employee and you lost work through no fault of your own, you should qualify for unemployment benefits. The process might take a while but don't let that discourage you from filing.

•Good luck! And remember, if you run into issues getting through to Washington ESD, Claimyr can really help speed up the process of reaching an agent.

One last tip - if your claim gets approved, your weekly benefit amount will be based on your highest earning quarter in the past year. So if you had a really good quarter, that'll help your benefit calculation.

•That's good to know. I had one quarter where I was working with three different clients so hopefully that helps.

•Exactly! Washington ESD uses your best quarter to calculate benefits, so those higher earning periods really matter.
