Don't forget about the earnings reporting requirements. If you work part-time while on unemployment and don't report it correctly, that's grounds for denial and possible overpayment issues.
The appeal process isn't that bad if you're organized. I appealed a misconduct denial and won by showing the employer's allegations were exaggerated. Just make sure you meet the 30-day deadline!
If you're still having trouble getting through by phone, I had success with that Claimyr service too. Used it twice now when I needed to talk to someone about my claim. Much less stressful than the regular calling process. Worth checking out if you're stuck.
Several people have mentioned Claimyr now. Sounds like it's really helping people get through to Washington ESD agents. I'll definitely look into it if I need to call again.
Final thought - remember that every unemployment situation is a little different, so don't get discouraged if advice that worked for someone else doesn't immediately solve your problem. The main thing is to stay organized, be consistent, and don't give up. The system has problems but most people do eventually get their benefits sorted out.
This whole thread has been incredibly helpful. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and advice. I feel much more confident about tackling my unemployment issues now.
One thing that helped me was calling the Washington ESD automated line first to check my claim status before trying to reach a person. Sometimes you can get the info you need without waiting on hold.
Just want to say thanks to everyone sharing their experiences. This thread has been more helpful than anything I found on the official Washington ESD website!
Quick question - did you get any kind of severance or final paycheck weirdness when you quit? Sometimes employers try to mess with your final pay when you quit for harassment reasons.
Final reminder - make sure you have all your personal documents organized before filing. You'll need your Social Security number, previous employer information, and details about your last day of work. Having everything ready will make the application process smoother.

Remember that even when your benefits end, you should still register with WorkSource if you haven't already. They have job placement services and can help with resume writing.

•I'm registered but haven't used their other services much. I should probably schedule an appointment with a counselor.

Don't give up hope. I was unemployed for 8 months but finally found something. Keep applying and networking - sometimes it just takes time.
