Just remember to keep your job search logs even after you close the claim. Washington ESD can audit claims up to 5 years later and they'll want to see that documentation.
This whole thread is making me nervous about my own claim that just got approved yesterday! Sounds like 2-3 days is normal though.
I used Claimyr twice last year when I had payment issues and they were super helpful both times. Worth trying if you end up needing to call Washington ESD about this.
For what it's worth, I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for just stopping their weekly claims when they got a job. That's literally what you're supposed to do.
One more thing to consider - if you do training through WorkSource or an approved program, you might be able to extend your benefits under certain circumstances. Not common but worth knowing about.
Bottom line: plan for 25 paid weeks (26 total minus the waiting week) and use that time effectively. The job market can be tough but 6 months is usually enough time to find something if you stay focused and persistent.

OP - once you know your weekly benefit amount, remember that's the maximum you can get. If you have any part-time work or other income, your actual payment will be less. Also Washington ESD requires a one-week waiting period for new claims.

•Correct. The first week you file is your waiting week - you have to complete it but you don't get paid for that week. Payments start from the second week.

•That waiting week rule is such BS. People need money immediately when they lose their jobs, not after two weeks of bureaucracy.

Make sure to file your claim as soon as possible after your last day of work. Washington ESD can only pay benefits from the date you file, not retroactively to when you actually became unemployed.

•Good advice. I was planning to file this weekend since I just got laid off yesterday.

•Perfect timing then. The sooner you file, the sooner your claim can be processed and approved.
