If you have any specific questions about how the earnings calculation works, you might want to speak with an actual Washington ESD representative. I found Claimyr really helpful for getting through to someone who could explain the details of my particular situation.
Good luck with the new job! Even if it's just part-time, it's great to have some income and work experience while you continue your full-time job search.
Good luck with everything! The first claim is definitely the hardest part. Once you get through it and understand the system, it's much more manageable.
One last tip - if you run into problems and can't reach Washington ESD by phone, that claimyr service someone mentioned earlier is legit. I used it when my claim got stuck and couldn't get through on the regular phone lines. Worth checking out their demo video to see how it works.
If you're really concerned about the timeline, you might want to try reaching out to Washington ESD directly. I know the phone system is a nightmare, but sometimes you can get useful information about what's holding up your claim. There are also services that can help you get through faster - I used one called Claimyr when I was having issues and it actually worked pretty well.
Just want to add that even though the waiting sucks, most claims do eventually get approved if you were legitimately laid off or let go through no fault of your own. Washington ESD processes thousands of claims every week so some delay is inevitable. Hang in there!
Bottom line - plan for 3-4 weeks minimum, hope for 2 weeks, and have a backup plan if it takes longer. The system is better than it was during the pandemic but still not great. Keep filing weekly claims, respond to any requests immediately, and don't panic if it takes a bit longer than expected.
One more thing - if you end up needing to contact Washington ESD and can't get through the regular way, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier actually works. I was skeptical but it saved me tons of time when I needed to resolve an issue with my weekly claim.

One last tip - if you're getting close to exhausting your 26 weeks and still haven't found work, start looking into other assistance programs early. Don't wait until the last minute to explore your options.

•Good advice. Hopefully I won't need it but better to be prepared.

The whole system is honestly pretty fair once you understand it. 26 weeks gives you a decent runway to find something good rather than just taking the first job that comes along.
