TWC: No unemployment check after 4 weeks since layoff. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a tough spot. Got laid off due to work reduction about a month ago and still haven't received my unemployment check. It's been 4 weeks now and I'm starting to worry. Anyone else dealing with delays? Any advice on how to speed things up when I talk to TWC?

Man, that sucks. I've been there before. Make sure you mention the exact date you were laid off when you talk to them. Sometimes that helps them track down whats going on. Have you checked your claim status online?

•Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I've been checking online but it just says 'pending' 😩 Gonna make sure I have all my dates straight when I finally get through

•Online status is useless half the time tbh. You really gotta talk to a human to get anywhere with TWC 🙄

4 weeks is way too long! You need to call them ASAP. Here's what I did to finally get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. •Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny when you're desperate to talk to someone

•How does it work exactly? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Pretty much. They have some tech that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls you. Beats sitting on hold for hours yourself

Ugh, TWC is such a mess rn. I waited 6 weeks for my first check 😭 Keep calling and don't give up! Sometimes you gotta be a squeaky wheel to get the grease, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the exact date you were laid off, your last day of work, and any communication you've had with TWC. 2. Check your TWC account online for any pending issues or requests for additional information. 3. Call TWC first thing in the morning, right when they open. That's usually the best time to get through. 4. If you can't get through, try calling your local Workforce Solutions office. They can sometimes help or at least give you more info. 5. If all else fails, contact your state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with TWC issues. 6. While you're waiting, make sure you're completing your work search requirements and requesting payment on time. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed but you'll get your benefits eventually.

Pro tip: if you get through to someone and they're not helpful, politely hang up and call again. Some reps are way more knowledgeable/helpful than others.

Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' your documents? Make copies of EVERYTHING you send them!

idk if this helps but I found out my employer hadn't reported my wages correctly which was holding up my claim. Might be worth checking with your old job to make sure they filed everything right
