Facing eviction after 3 months of unemployment - need help ASAP!
I've been unemployed for almost three months now and I'm facing eviction. I'm really worried about ending up on the street. Has anyone else been in this situation? What can I do?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you tried contacting your local housing authority? They might have emergency assistance programs for people facing eviction. Also, check if there are any rent relief programs in your area due to COVID-19. Hang in there!

Yeah, def check out the covid rent relief programs. My cousin got help thru one of those and it bought her some time to find work. Good luck!

Man, the system is so broken. How are we supposed to survive when unemployment takes forever and rent keeps going up? It's a freakin joke 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the unemployment office. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in like 2 hours when I'd been trying for weeks.

Yeah, it's not cheap, but for me it was worth it to finally get my claim sorted. Saved me way more in the long run.

Here's what you need to do ASAP: 1. Apply for emergency rental assistance if available in your area 2. Talk to your landlord and see if you can work out a payment plan 3. Look into local food banks to help cut costs 4. Check if you qualify for any other benefits like SNAP or Medicaid 5. Reach out to local churches or charities for additional help 6. Consider picking up gig work or odd jobs for quick cash 7. If all else fails, look into local shelters as a last resort Don't give up hope. There are resources out there, even if they're hard to find. Wishing you the best!

Thank you so much for this detailed list. It really helps to have a plan of action. I'll start working on these steps right away.

This is great advice. I'd also add: check if your city has any tenant rights organizations. They can sometimes help negotiate with landlords or provide legal advice.

Have you tried calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

Hey, just wanted to say you're not alone. I was in your shoes last year and it was terrifying. But I promise there's light at the end of the tunnel. Don't be afraid to ask for help and take it one day at a time. Sending you strength ❤️
