Where is the RESEA program on PA CareerLink site? Can't find it anywhere!
Hi everyone, I'm totally confused about this RESEA thing on the PA CareerLink website. I got an email saying I need to complete the RESEA program as part of my continuing eligibility for PA UC benefits, but when I log into the CareerLink site, I cannot find it ANYWHERE! I've clicked through every menu and tab I can see. Does anyone know exactly where this is supposed to be? Am I looking in the wrong place? The notification said I have to complete it within 14 days or my benefits could be affected, and I'm already 5 days in. Getting really stressed about this!

i had same issue last month. its not actually on the regular careerlink site. u need to go to your dashboard on the UC portal first, then click on the link from there that says something about RESEA appointment. took me forever to figure out too lol

•Thanks! So I need to go to the UC portal first, not CareerLink directly? That explains why I couldn't find it! Do you remember if there was anything specific I need to prepare for the RESEA thing?

The PA unemployment system is DELIBERATELY CONFUSING!! They make it hard to find things so people miss deadlines and they can cut benefits. I had the same issue with RESEA last year and almost lost my benefits because their stupid system is so badly designed. The RESEA link should be on CareerLink but it's NOT - it's hidden in your UC dashboard under "Important Messages" or something like that. RIDICULOUS!!!!!

•It's not actually a deliberate attempt to confuse people. The RESEA program is federally mandated but administered jointly through UC and CareerLink. The notification system could definitely be improved, but there's no conspiracy to cut people off benefits by hiding the link.

RESEA (Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment) is accessed through your UC Dashboard, not directly through CareerLink as the notification sometimes suggests. Here's how to find it: 1. Log into your UC Dashboard at www.uc.pa.gov 2. Look for a section called "Important Messages" or "Notifications" 3. Find the RESEA notification and click the link provided 4. This will take you to the proper portal where you can schedule your RESEA appointment For the appointment itself, be prepared to discuss your work search activities, have your resume ready for review, and be prepared to participate in a job skills assessment. The appointment can be virtual or in-person depending on your service center.

•Thank you so much for these detailed instructions! I'll check my UC Dashboard right away. Do you know if they'll make me reschedule if I don't have my resume completely finished yet? I'm still working on updating it.

•You should at least have a basic resume ready for the appointment. It doesn't need to be perfect - they'll actually help you improve it during the RESEA session. But having something to start with is important. They can reschedule if you're not prepared, but that could potentially delay your benefits, so it's best to have at least a draft ready.

when i had my resea thing they made me do this assessment test about my job skills and interests, took like 30 mins. just fyi you should set aside some time for that part too. the whole thing took me like an hour and a half.

•Oh that's good to know! I'll make sure I have enough time set aside for it. Did they also review your job search records during the appointment?

I went through this exact same confusion a few weeks ago! I spent HOURS trying to find the RESEA thing on CareerLink. Turns out I needed to call PA UC to get the right link because my notification email never came through correctly. I tried for 3 days to get through on the phone - constant busy signals or being disconnected after waiting on hold. Finally I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes. They have a demo video that explains how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Their website is claimyr.com - totally worth it when you're dealing with confusing UC requirements and can't get through on the phone. The agent I spoke with sent me the direct link to my RESEA portal and got everything sorted out.

•Thanks for this tip! I'll try checking my dashboard first as others suggested, but if I can't find it, I might need to call. It's always so frustrating trying to get through to them on the phone. I'll check out that service if I have trouble.

To provide a bit more context about RESEA: it's a mandatory program for selected UC claimants designed to help you return to work faster. Not everyone on UC gets selected for it, but if you receive a notification, participation is required to maintain your benefits. The program involves: 1. A one-on-one session with a workforce professional 2. Review of your eligibility for UC benefits 3. Labor market information specific to your field 4. Development of a reemployment plan 5. Referral to additional reemployment services As others mentioned, you access it through your UC Dashboard, not directly through CareerLink. The confusion exists because the program is jointly managed by both systems, but the entry point is through UC Portal.

•Thank you for explaining what it actually involves. Do you know how they select people for this program? Is it random or is there some reason I was chosen?

Jabari-Jo
•The selection process includes various factors. They typically select claimants who would benefit most from reemployment services, those who have received a certain amount of benefits already, or those in industries with available jobs. It's partly systematic and partly based on who they believe would benefit from the additional assistance. It's not a penalty or indication of any problem with your claim.

When i had my RESEA they also made me do this stupid typing test lol. not sure why that matters for my field (accounting) but whatever... just be prepared for random assessments

•I got the notification email telling me I need to do it, but it just said to log into CareerLink - no direct link. But I'll double check my spam folder too, thanks!

Just to follow up on some of the comments - if you've been selected for RESEA and cannot find the link through your UC Dashboard, you can also call your local PA CareerLink office directly (not the UC number) and ask them about your RESEA appointment. They can often help you navigate the process more easily than the main UC call center. Also, once you complete the RESEA session, make sure you get confirmation of your attendance. You'll want to keep that documentation in case there are any questions about your compliance with the program requirements later on.

•That's a great tip about calling the local CareerLink office directly! I didn't realize they could help with this. And I'll definitely make sure to get confirmation after I complete it. Thank you so much for all your help!

I went through this exact same frustration about 2 months ago! The RESEA system is definitely confusing. Here's what worked for me: 1. Log into your UC Dashboard at www.uc.pa.gov (NOT CareerLink) 2. Look for "Important Messages" or "Notifications" section 3. You should see a RESEA notification with a link to schedule your appointment 4. If you don't see it there, check under "Required Activities" or "To Do Items" If you still can't find it, try logging out completely and logging back in - sometimes it takes a refresh to show up. Also make sure you're using the same login credentials you use for filing your weekly claims. The appointment itself wasn't too bad - they reviewed my job search activities, helped me update my resume, and did a quick skills assessment. Just have your recent job applications ready to show them and a draft of your resume. The whole thing took about an hour. Don't panic about the 14-day deadline - as long as you're making a good faith effort to find and complete it, they're usually understanding if there are technical issues with their system!

•Thank you so much Ella! This is exactly what I needed - step by step instructions. I was definitely looking in the wrong place by going to CareerLink first. I'll try logging into the UC Dashboard and look for those specific sections you mentioned. It's such a relief to know that others have had the same confusion and that they're understanding about technical issues. I was really starting to stress about missing the deadline!

I had this exact same problem a few months ago and it drove me crazy! After spending way too much time searching, I finally found it. Here's what you need to do: 1. Go to www.uc.pa.gov and log in with your UC credentials 2. Once you're in your UC Dashboard, look for a section that says "Messages" or "Notifications" 3. There should be a RESEA notification there with a clickable link 4. If you don't see it in Messages, check under any section that says "Action Items" or "Required Tasks" The tricky part is that the initial email notification makes it sound like you need to go to CareerLink, but the actual scheduling link is buried in your UC Dashboard. It's really poorly designed! For the appointment itself, make sure you have: - A current resume (doesn't have to be perfect) - Records of your recent job applications - About 90 minutes set aside for the whole thing Don't stress too much about the 14-day deadline - if you're having trouble finding the link due to their confusing system, they're usually pretty reasonable about it. You can also call your local CareerLink office directly if you're still having issues - they're often more helpful than the main UC phone line.

•This is so helpful! I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now and have been going in circles trying to find the RESEA link. I kept going to CareerLink first because that's what the email seemed to suggest, but now I understand I need to start at the UC Dashboard instead. Thank you for breaking down exactly where to look - the "Messages" and "Action Items" sections. I'm going to try this right now. It's frustrating that their system is so confusing, but at least I know I'm not the only one who struggled with this!

I'm dealing with this same issue right now and it's so frustrating! I've been clicking around the CareerLink site for hours trying to find this RESEA thing. Reading through all these comments, it sounds like I need to go to the UC Dashboard first instead of CareerLink directly. Just to confirm - when you all say "UC Dashboard," you mean logging into www.uc.pa.gov with the same username and password I use for my weekly claims, right? And then look for "Messages" or "Important Messages" section? I really hope I can find it there because I'm already stressed about the deadline too. Has anyone else had issues where the RESEA notification didn't show up in their dashboard at all? I'm wondering if there could be a technical glitch or if I need to update something in my account settings.

•Yes, exactly! You use the same login credentials for www.uc.pa.gov that you use for your weekly claims. Once you're logged in, look for sections like "Messages," "Important Messages," "Notifications," or "Action Items" - different people seem to find it in slightly different places depending on how their dashboard is set up. If the RESEA notification isn't showing up at all in your dashboard, that could definitely be a technical issue. I'd suggest trying these steps: 1) Log out completely and log back in, 2) Clear your browser cache, 3) Try using a different browser. If it's still not there after that, you might need to call your local CareerLink office directly - they can usually help you access it or at least confirm that you're supposed to have a RESEA requirement. Don't panic about the deadline though! From what others have said, they're understanding when there are technical issues with their system. The important thing is that you're making a good faith effort to complete it.

I just went through this exact same frustration last week! The RESEA system navigation is honestly terrible. Here's what finally worked for me: 1. Go to www.uc.pa.gov (NOT CareerLink) and log in with your regular UC credentials 2. Once logged in, look for "Important Messages" or "Notifications" - mine was under a tab that said "Action Required" 3. The RESEA notification should be there with a link to schedule your appointment 4. If you don't see it, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in I wasted so much time searching CareerLink because that's what the email notification implied. The actual RESEA portal is completely separate and only accessible through that link in your UC dashboard. One tip: when you find the link and schedule your appointment, screenshot the confirmation page! I had an issue later where they couldn't find my scheduled appointment in their system, and having that screenshot saved me from having to reschedule. The appointment itself was pretty straightforward - just had to review my job search activities and do a brief skills assessment. Took about an hour total. Don't stress too much about the deadline, they know their system is confusing and are usually reasonable if you're having technical difficulties finding the link.

•This is such great advice about taking a screenshot of the confirmation page! I never would have thought of that but it makes total sense given how glitchy their system seems to be. I'm finally starting to feel less panicked about this whole thing - it sounds like the actual appointment isn't too scary, just the finding it part that's a nightmare. I'm going to follow everyone's advice and go straight to the UC Dashboard instead of wasting more time on CareerLink. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm going through this same nightmare right now! Thank you all so much for the detailed instructions - I was definitely making the same mistake of looking on CareerLink first instead of the UC Dashboard. Just to add my experience: I found my RESEA notification under a section called "To Do" in my UC Dashboard (www.uc.pa.gov). It wasn't in "Messages" like some people mentioned, so if you don't see it there, check other sections too! One question - for those who have completed it already, did they ask about specific job applications or just general job search activities? I've been applying to jobs but haven't been keeping super detailed records of every single application. Should I go back and try to document everything I can remember before my appointment? Also really appreciate the tip about screenshotting the confirmation page. This whole system is so poorly designed it's ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to keep our benefits!

•Great point about checking the "To Do" section! The navigation really is inconsistent across different accounts. For the job search documentation - they did ask to see my recent applications during my RESEA appointment, but they weren't super strict about having every single detail documented. I'd recommend trying to gather what you can remember (company names, dates, job titles) but don't stress too much if you're missing some details. They understand that not everyone keeps perfect records. What they really want to see is that you're making a genuine effort to find work. Having a general list of where you've applied in the last few weeks should be sufficient. They're more focused on helping you improve your search strategy than auditing every application you've made. You're absolutely right about the system being poorly designed - it's frustrating that something so important for maintaining benefits is buried in such a confusing interface!

I'm having the exact same issue right now! I've been searching for hours on CareerLink and getting nowhere. Reading through all these comments has been such a lifesaver - I had no idea I was supposed to go to the UC Dashboard first instead of CareerLink directly. Just to make sure I understand correctly: I need to go to www.uc.pa.gov (not CareerLink), log in with my regular weekly claim credentials, and then look for sections like "Messages," "Important Messages," "To Do," or "Action Required" to find the RESEA notification with the scheduling link, right? I'm on day 7 of my 14-day deadline and starting to panic, but it sounds like they're understanding about technical difficulties with their confusing system. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences - this thread is way more helpful than anything I could find on the official websites! Going to try the UC Dashboard approach right now and hopefully finally get this scheduled. Will definitely screenshot the confirmation page if I manage to find it!

•Yes, you've got it exactly right! Go to www.uc.pa.gov with your regular weekly claim login, then check those sections everyone mentioned. I just went through this same exact panic last month and found mine under "Important Messages." Don't worry about being on day 7 - I was on day 10 when I finally found mine and everything worked out fine. The key thing is you're actively trying to complete it, which shows good faith effort on your part. One additional tip: if you still can't find it after checking your UC Dashboard thoroughly, try calling your local CareerLink office directly (not the main UC number) - they can often walk you through it or even send you the direct link. The staff there tend to be more helpful and easier to reach than the main UC phone line. You've got this! The hardest part is just finding the darn link in their confusing system.

I'm dealing with this exact same frustration right now! Thank you all for the incredibly helpful advice - I was making the same mistake of searching endlessly on CareerLink instead of going to the UC Dashboard first. Just wanted to confirm what I'm understanding from all your comments: I need to log into www.uc.pa.gov with my regular weekly claim credentials, then look in sections like "Messages," "Important Messages," "To Do," or "Action Required" to find the RESEA notification with the scheduling link? I'm on day 6 of my 14-day deadline and was really starting to panic, but reading everyone's experiences makes me feel so much better. It's clear this system is confusing for everyone, not just me! Going to try the UC Dashboard approach right now. And I'll definitely take everyone's advice about screenshotting the confirmation page once I (hopefully) get it scheduled. This thread has been more helpful than hours of searching their official websites!

•Yes, you've got it exactly right! That's the same process that worked for me when I was stuck in this same situation a couple weeks ago. Go to www.uc.pa.gov with your weekly claim login, then check all those different sections - mine ended up being under "Action Required" but I've seen others find it in "Messages" or "To Do" depending on how their dashboard is set up. Don't stress about being on day 6 - you still have plenty of time, and honestly the system is so confusing that they're used to people having trouble finding it. I was on day 9 when I finally located mine and had no issues at all. One thing that helped me was completely logging out and clearing my browser cache before logging back in. Sometimes the dashboard doesn't refresh properly and won't show all the notifications. Also, if you're using a mobile browser, try switching to a desktop computer - the mobile version of their site seems to hide things even more than the regular version. You're definitely on the right track now though! Once you find that link, the actual scheduling is pretty straightforward.
